The Dynamic Hair Trio from Niucoco

I think that coconut oil is the miracle product of the decade. It’s good for every single part of you, inside and out! NIUCOCO is a hair care line with products that feature cold-pressed extra virgin coconut oil as the main ingredient, and all the products are free from parabens, phthalates, sulfates, artificial fragrances and colors. I tested the Dynamic Hair Trio (which is on sale right now for $75), and includes the Hydrating Shampoo, Smoothing Conditioner, and the Renewing Hair Serum.

Niucoco Dynamic Hair Trio

The Hydrating Shampoo is very different – I was pretty skeptical that it was going to work for my hair.  You have to remember to shake it well before using because it separates. Also, it isn’t a detergent-based shampoo, so it doesn’t really lather up…it does end up with a bit of foam, but it’s a very low foam. I found that it felt very odd to wash with, and when I rinsed it out my hair didn’t feel soft…it felt very stiff, almost like a squeaky clean. I was thinking uh oh, this isn’t going to be good….

Niucoco Hydrating Shampoo

The Hydrating Shampoo is meant for dry and damaged hair and is especially good for hair that is colored, stressed from heat treatments, or overexposure to salty water and sunshine. The cold-pressed oil gives hair lots of shiny volume and intensifies the color.

KEY POINTS

Promotes colour retention to extend dye job and resist fading
Boosts hydration
Helps alleviate dandruff
Gentle, low foam formula
Won’t overstrip hair’s natural oils

After washing, I followed with the Smoothing Conditioner. As a quick note, you can also use the conditioner as a pre-conditioning treatment – just apply the conditioner first, then rinse, then shampoo, rinse, then condition again and rinse. It’s a great way to go for extremely dry hair. Or, the Smoothing Conditioner can be used as a Cleansing Conditioner – just forget the shampoo.

Niucoco Smoothing Conditioner

So while my hair felt odd after shampooing, the Smoothing Conditioner immediately assuaged my concerns by bathing my hair in fabulous hydration. The conditioner is rich and velvety and yet it isn’t too heavy. It’s best for medium to thick hair that is dry, wiry, damaged, colored, or bleached.

KEY POINTS

Creamy and rich formula
Leaves hair soft
Boosts shine and hydration
Softens grey hair

I worked the conditioner in to my damp hair, concentrating mostly on the ends, then left it on for about 4 minutes. Then I rinsed it out and rinsed again just because. My hair felt soft and silky. I wrapped it in a towel and let the towel soak up the majority of the moisture before the final step: the Renewing Hair Serum.

Niucoco Renewing Hair Serum

The Renewing Hair Serum is a beautiful nutrient-rich serum/styling oil. It is a combination of extra virgin coconut oil, guava fruit extract, and sunflower seed oil. It gives hair texture and helps to heal and repair strands. It detangles, protects hair from heat styling, and adds tons of shine. Oh, and it smells freaking amazing.

KEY POINTS

Heat protectant
Defrizzes
Fresh coconut scent

The bottle has a stopper in it so the oil doesn’t go everywhere. You hold the bottle upside down and tap it on your palm to get drops of oil. Use more oil for damaged hair. You can use the oil on damp or dry hair. I love this stuff – it’s great on its own or mixed with other styling products. Very versatile!

Here’s my Niucoco hair – just blown dry, no heat styling at all. I ended up with tons of shine and lots of softness and body.

You can buy each product separately, or right now on the Niucoco website there is a sale – NIUCOCO Dynamic Hair Trio was $99, now $75.00.

I would love to try the Renewing Hair Serum.

  2. My hair is so dry that the hairdresser usually has to spritz it with a water bottle because it dries before she is finished. I am always using hydrating products & can’t wash it every day. This product sounds like something I could really use. Thanks!
