Simyskin: Phase II and Phase III Eye Serums review

Simyskin

SimySkin™ is a US cosmetics and beauty care company that was new to the BIZ, which makes sense since it’s just over a year old, having launched in February of 2014. Their mission is to offer anti-aging skin care products that are high quality, effective, and low cost. SimySkin takes skin care very seriously and in fact has an oncologist on the team as skin cancer has become a major issue in the past 30 years.

They sent the BIZ two different eye serums to test: Phase II, which is meant for those aged 25 to 45, and Phase III, for those aged 45+. Phase I is for those aged 18 to 25…we wish!! What kind of results did we have after a few months of testing?  Read on to find out!

LISA’S SIDE: PHASE II EYE SERUM ($55)

Simyskin Phase II Eye Serum

Simyskin Phase II Eye Serum

Ok, I will be honest…I am actually a smidge older than the end of the Phase II age spectrum. I only surpass it by a few years, though, so for comparison purposes we thought it would be just fine. I like the fact that the ingredients in the eye serums change based on age as our skin care needs change as we get older. The Phase II Eye Serum is formulated to address dark circles and puffiness, along with providing protection, skin cell regeneration, and enhanced skin elasticity.

The eye serum is lightweight and comes in very interesting packaging. The top of the bottle has a dispenser, along with a cooling metal ball that spreads the serum while calming and depuffing the undereye area. Phase II gives immediate gratification, instantly soothing and smoothing skin – it truly is a noticeable difference. The main ingredients include Dipetide-2 for conditioning skin and improving circulation, along with hyaluronic acid for hydration and elasticity.

SimySkin™ reports some impressive results:

–    Anti-inflammatory reduction of 33%

** Clinical Participants 70% experienced skin improvement after 56 days

I most definitely saw an improvement and I really like this serum. Considering my age, I could probably use Phase III now, but I do think that Phase II is a terrific option for those in the 25 to 45 age range.

Active Ingredients

Dipeptide-2; Hesperidin methyl chalcone; Lipopeptide pal-GQPR ; Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid; Hyaluronic Acid; Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7; Ubiquinone; Sorghum bicolor stalk juice

MARCIA’S SIDE: PHASE III EYE SERUM ($65)

Simyskin Phase III Eye Serum

SimySkin Phase III Eye Serum

I can look at it one of two ways – I’m worth more ($65 instead of $55) or I’m older (over 45). I think I’ll just take both. I can’t deny that I’m over 45 and I know darn well I’m worth more! If you’ve followed Beauty Info Zone you might know that I am crazy about eye creams of all sorts. It’s the one product I crave and truthfully I own a lot. SimySkin™ Anti-Aging Eye Serum Phase III is a nice addition to my collection but it’s not going to stop me from continuing my search.

This is a very gentle and lightweight serum that helps in a myriad of ways. The goal is to correct, repair, protect and reverse visible signs of aging. SimySkin™ uses 6 active ingredients in this eye serum that work on decreased appearance of puffiness, darkcircles and fine lines. That’s what I desperately need.

Two of the most important ingredients are Hersperidin Methylchalcone which helps reduce dark circles and discoloration, and Acetyl Dipeptide  to reduce the appearance of lines and calm the skin.

The unique ball massager on the applicator tip is a nice touch but I found I had to use so much more of the eye serum than I felt necessary or it would stick on my skin and not move. I didn’t use it most of the time but I did love it in the morning under my eyes when I looked particularly puffy.

Unfortunately this has a fragrance which is why I said it won’t stop me from my search. I can tolerate the fragrance in the morning but I can’t tolerate it at night. As someone who struggles with insomnia I am very picky about what I smell like in bed since anything can keep me from falling asleep. The fragrance of SimySkin Anti-aging Eye Serum kept me awake. I didn’t feel like it dissipated quickly enough. I know that this wouldn’t stop most people, it’s just my opinion. If you aren’t sensitive to fragrance and want an eye serum that helps with all the over 45 signs of aging, then consider this one since it does work well.

Active Ingredients

  1. The brand looks like they did they search and formulas are pretty close to be perfect products. Both eye serums look interesting as for the night I anyway use a thicker eye cream, so hopefully the scent would not disturb me too much during the day. However, strictly speaking, a fragrance has nothing to do in any eye product. I find this type of applicator unhygienic because I layer skin care and all this will be rolled inside of a tube. The facial products also look interesting. I did not understand why phase I includes sun filters and phase II doesn’t, perhaps they plan to develop also a day cream for 45+. I wish they would not include silica and castor oil PEG in it because this breaks me out. Also in the acid toner, alcohol is not necessary. If one day they do some formula and packaging tweaks, I would buy both serums.
If you prefer applying the eye serums under your face cream (I do it in the morning), there are other gel-like serums with peptides. Arcona Peptide Eye serum and Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Retinol eye serum. I am using both, alternate them each day.

  2. The formulas sound really well research. I’m definitely intrigued.

  3. Mike and Michelle says

    Very interested skin care company!

We have been using some SimySkin products (Eye Serum for wife and Gel Cleansers / Facial cleansers for me), and both of us have fantastic results.

The gold applicator on top of the SimySkin eye serums look very fancy and hygienic. I don’t know why the other commenter thought it is unclean, but we have not had any complaints with using it so far.
