We decided to do something slightly different with today’s Side by Side review. Since we both have Royalty Red we thought we’d show you how it looks on our different skin tones and lip colors. We each have several pictures including Royalty Red freshly applied and last Royalty Red one hour later to see if/how it changes on our lips. We can assure you that this lipstick is moisturizing and rich; full bodied and gorgeous. It will certainly make your holiday lips shine like the star that you are.

MARCIA’S LIPS:

This is a beautiful red lipstick. I didn’t use a lipliner for this since I don’t have an appropriate one but I think I’ll try to find one. On me this is a very cool shade and good for my skintone.

The lipstick didn’t change much on me, maybe a tad lighter. I didn’t eat or drink in this time period though.

This is what’s left after eating dinner and drinking through a straw. I never felt the need to reapply since it faded well.

LISA’S LIPS:

I certainly found that the color changed on me after a bit.  My bare lips are barely there – they are thin to begin with, but they also have very little pigment.  Here they are with no lipstick on at all:

When I first put Royalty Red on, I was like WHOA!!  This is REALLY red.  But it was a neutral red, not too blue and not too orange.

I liked it, and I am usually not a fan of red lipsticks since my lips are too thin to handle big color.  After an hour, the color had definitely changed.  It morphed into a less intense, more mauvey color.

Either way, I have to say I liked it.  There are days when a bolder color is called for, and on those days I am happy to reach for Royalty Red.  The case is absolutely divine, and the color looks great – from beginning to end.

SIDE BY SIDE: What we found interesting with this lipstick is how the color looks different on each of us. If you like a cool red lipstick you need to check this out. A great red lipstick is so classic for the holidays especially.
