Side by Side: Marcelle Cosmetics mascara

If the two mascaras that Lisa and Marcia are wearing are representative of what Marcelle Cosmetics does with mascara then you need to get to Canada or their website and buy these quickly. Marcelle makes 4 types of mascara: Lash Extreme Mascara ($10.25), Ultimate Lash Mascara ($10.35), Volume Precision Mascara ($11.95) and Power Volume Mascara ($11.95).  Even though we are good friends, we almost came to blows over who would review which mascara! Marcia really does love definition though so her choice of Volume Precision Mascara was perfect while Lisa loves to volumize her lashes so Power Volume Mascara went to her. We would have done a “versus” review but these are just so nice that we didn’t want to pick favorites.  Let’s see what the BIZ ladies have to say…

Marcia’s side:

What a wonderful mascara Volume Precision is! I’m thrilled with everything about it. No smearing, no flaking, amazing definition and added volume. To top it off the price is great. Marcelle makes sure that its products are good for good for sensitive eyes and this one is. I don’t understand why some mascaras are scented. When I read that I scratch my head. Since I don’t like scratching my head (or my eyes) I’m thrilled that Marcelle Volume Precision mascara is perfume-free and hypoallergenic.

The wand is a rubber wand (polymer) and it has subtle differences in the lengths of the bristles making it easier to pick up each and every lash and coat them with the gel formula. The mascara is enriched with olive oil and rice brand wax. I find it easy to remove using my eye makeup remover (I don’t think it would come off with regular cleanser, but I haven’t tried since that’s not my modus operandi.) As easy as it is to remove, it still lasts an entire day. I almost always have my eye makeup on for at least 12 hours and this looks just as nice at the end of the day as when I apply it. What’s also nice about Volume Precision is that you can build it as much as you like. I typically apply 2 coats of mascara (see picture) and love the amount of definition and volume this provides.

LISA’S SIDE:

Marcia, sounds like a great mascara, which only cements my opinion that Marcelle is a truly great line. I have loved everything I’ve tried from them so far, and the mascara I am reviewing today is no exception.

Marcelle Power Volume Mascara

I tested the Power Volume Mascara and it’s become one of my favorites. It’s a little tricky, but if you use it right it’s a fantastic mascara.

The brush is thick with a long wand. This mascara’s formula is initially very wet, so if you don’t wipe it down you will end up with clumps. Just wipe it off lightly with a tissue, and clumping becomes a non-issue.

It gives lots of drama in terms of length, and is great for separation.

I am not sure why it’s called Power Volume, because while it does increase thickness somewhat, it’s best for length. It leaves your lashes soft, not brittle, and there is absolutely no flaking or smearing at all It also washes off very easily with regular cleanser, you don’t even need a specific eye makeup remover.

Marcelle Power Volume Mascara - lots of length!!

I grab this mascara when I want to emphasize lash length, with a little volume as well.  It’s a fantastic go-to mascara because after it’s applied, there is no maintenance required.  Another winner from Marcelle Cosmetics!  – Lisa

I really like the first one’s effect, the volume precision mascara. The other one makes to thick lashes.

Thanks Gayle, I actually have pretty wimpy lashes but with RapidLash and a mascara as good as this one it makes a big difference. I like lengthening mascaras personally.

Wow, these both look like great mascaras, thanks so much for the review! :-) I loved how your lashes turned out Marcia, and I also got a kick out of seeing the phrase “modus operandi” in this post. :-) Hope you both have a great week!
