Puppy Breath and Kitten Fur! Demeter Fragrances

“Cats are smarter than dogs. You can’t get eight cats to pull a sled through snow.”
– Jeff Valdez

“Dogs will give you unconditional love until the day they die. Cats will make you pay for every mistake you’ve ever made since the day you were born.”
– Oliver Gaspirtz, A Treasury of Pet Humor

Are you a cat person or a dog person? Whatever your preference, Demeter Fragrance has you covered with their cat and dog friendly fragrances, Kitty Fur and Puppy’s Breath.

Demeter is such a fun line – who else offers such intriguing scents as Clean Windows, Earthworm, Glue, Fuzzy Balls, Lobster, and Mildew? They sound odd, but Demeter knows exactly what it’s doing. Their fragrances are clear, nature based notes that are meant for layering and experimentation. By layering the scents, you can create your own signature fragrance with top, middle, and bottom notes.

Demeter has several sampler sets with small spray bottles of various scents that are perfect for trying and combining. I have the Classic Foolproof Blending Set, which is how I was able to try out Kitten Fur.

Demeter offers advice for mixing and matching:

RULE # 1
There are no rules.
Simply select your favorite scents. Combine. Experiment. Blend.

Try combining one from the TOP, MIDDLE and BOTTOM note sections on the Demeter Blending Pyramid
Experiment with different fragrance combinations and proportions
Even the order that you apply the fragrances to the skin will affect the
final fragrance

Try combining multiple fragrances from the same row
Try combining multiple fruits or multiple flowers
Spray each fragrance on separate paper strips. Combine strips and smell in
various sequences until you find the scent you want to use on your skin.
TIP: Use multiple strips of a single fragrance to play with different concentrations

Kitten Fur is the result of 15 years of attempts to create that magical scent of soft, warm kitten fur. This scent is both feminine and cuddly. It is a sweet mix of baby powder, sage, lemongrass, with a slight musky edge of sandalwood. Wearing Kitten Fur always improves my mood – one spritz and I am immediately happier and life is good again.

A friend of mine always says that nothing is as wonderful as a box of kittens, and I think he is right. If you love tiny, playful kittens you will definitely be thrilled with Kitten Fur.

Having just welcomed a new puppy into my home, I was intrigued when I saw that Demeter’s latest fragrance was named Puppy’s Breath. Some people absolutely love a puppy’s breath…me, not so much. I think there are much better smells than masticated dog chow. However, Demeter’s version really surprised me. It’s genius.

It took Demeter twenty years to perfect Puppy’s Breath. It does not, thankfully, smell like chewed up dog food. Instead, it’s a lovely mix of sandalwood and clove, made deeper and sweeter with some brown sugar. When I had my 16 year old and her friend try both Kitten Fur and Puppy’s Breath, they both preferred Kitten Fur, although by a small margin.

You can find all of the wonderful Demeter fragrances at Zulily, Amazon, Walmart, and online at www.demeterfragrance.com. – Lisa

Those two new scents are too funny! And they make perfect sense for right now. I have never had good luck with Demeter fragrances, though I love their concepts, but hearing the notes in Kitten Fur, it might actually work for me!
