Prince Charcoal Detox Mask from Fleur and Bee!

The final product in my trilogy of Fleur & Bee cleansing reviews is the Prince Charcoal Detox Mask. I recently reviewed Dis-Mist Hand Sanitizer, which eliminates germs and bacteria from your hands, right HERE; I also reviewed the outstanding So Clean! Everyday Facial Cleanser right HERE. Once you have clean hands and a clean face, Fleur & Bee has the mask you need for some serious deep cleaning of pores and facial oil!

The Prince Charcoal Natural Detox Mask (2.0 oz for $18) is a charcoal clay mask that deep cleans pores and improves skin texture. Clay and charcoal are excellent skin detoxifiers, and Fleur & Bee’s version features coconut charcoal which is very gentle.

  • Naturally draws out impurities and cleanses pores
  • Balances natural oils
  • Nourishes and protects
  • Brightens and smooths skin tone and texture

You use this mask like any typical charcoal mask – apply to a clean face, leave on for about ten minutes, then rinse off. Prince Charcoal rinses more easily than most charcoal masks I have tried, and it doesn’t make a huge mess. That said, my preferred way to use any charcoal mask is to apply it ten minutes before my shower. That way, once I get in the shower the mist softens the mask up for super easy removal, and any potential mess disappears down the drain. The ingredient list includes:

  • Activated Coconut Charcoal – Cleanses your skin of dirt, oils and all the other build up
  • Kaolin and Bentonite Clays- Helps balance oils, soothe and softens texture
  • Organic Green Tea – Boosts plumpness and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Organic Reishi Mushroom – Helps reawaken the skin and gives you a natural, luminous glow
  • Organic Aloe Vera- Forms a thin, protective layer to lock in moisture

I am impressed the with size of the jar and the excellent price point. Even using this twice a week Prince Charcoal will last long enough to make the $18 price average out to pennies. When I opened the jar, the first thing I noticed was the scent. Honestly, for me the biggest drawback of charcoal masks is that nasty natural scent – or if it’s covered by a fragrance, the fragrance is usually too overpowering and gives me a headache. However, Prince Charcoal truly surprised me! I took a small whiff…then I took a bigger one…and then an even bigger one! It smells AMAZING. Looking at the ingredient list, the fragrance comes from a combination of natural ingredients – orange, lemon, apple, and – the most prominent note – honeysuckle! It’s a soft, sweet honeysuckle, like the scent of the breeze on a warm summer evening. Just WOW.

Prince Charcoal also impressed me by deep cleaning my skin without drying it out at all. In fact, even after the mask dries on the skin it isn’t all cracked and peeling. After rinsing, I have noticeably smaller pores and my skin looks fresh and doesn’t have the shine from excess oil. I also use it as a spot treatment when I feel a blemish about to pop up.

I use my Prince Charcoal as a deep cleansing and exfoliating mask at least once a week – twice if I really feel like pampering myself. Fleur & Bee never lets me down, and I am thrilled that they have such great cleansing products now.
