I am pretty easy to predict – put ‘3-in-1’ on a package and I’m going to try it. Pixi Beauty’s Black Lacquer Lash Primer ($15.00) promises to do three things for lashes: plump, protect, and prep. In the lashes world, I tend to think the less steps the better so a multi-tasker sounds even better than usual.sample, affiliate links
I typically don’t want to use a primer as well as a mascara…but hey, I like fat lashes. Girth matters. So I am happy to house my Pixi Beauty Black Lacquer Lash Primer right next to my mascara (my favorite Pixi mascara, by the way, is the fabulous Pixi Lengthy Fiber Mascara).
Here’s what Black Lacquer Lash Primer does:
• The rich black formula is packed with vitamins A & C plus panthenol to help keep lashes in optimum condition
• Unique comb applicator defines and volumizes for the ultimate intense effect
• Use before mascara as a base coat, after mascara to set, or by itself for a natural tinted look
• Not tested on animals
For a volumized effect, apply before your favourite mascara
• For a natural effect, use solo as a lash tint
• To separate & set, apply after mascara
I often use only the Pixi Beauty’s Black Lacquer Lash Primer for a few reasons. One, because I’m kind of lazy and I’m always running late, so since I grab this first I run out of time and it gives a very pretty, natural look to lashes anyway. It’s a soft, very black fringe that is natural and feminine. If I’m actually on top of things, I use it as a base and add my regular mascara over top. It definitely gives a fantastic base that adds lots of girth for tons of drama and big fat lashes. Love it. If I have been amazing with my time management skills, then I have time to also use it for a final swipe of my lashes, which separates them and gives them a final set. On those days my lashes look nothing short of incredible.
No matter how I use it, I never get any smudging, smearing, or flaking. My lashes stay curled and never get weighed down. This is also a fantastic mascara to use for lower lashes – it defines and separates but doesn’t give them too much length so they look like spider legs.
