My favorite hair brush: the Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush

Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush

Last week I finally bought a replacement for one of my favorite beauty items – my Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush ($27). I’ve had this brush for over 15 years and it is my favorite brush EVER. I didn’t even actually have to replace my old one, but it was getting a little ragged and I was so tired of having to hunt it down every day since my family members keep stealing it! If you don’t have one of these amazing brushes yourself let me tell you why you should pick one up soon.

The Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush is just a paddle brush, but it better than any paddle brush I have ever tried. It’s got perfect bristles that don’t just detangle hair, they also give a great scalp massage. The design has a bristle missing in the bottom middle half of the brush for ventilation and to prevent bacterial growth if water pools inside the brush.

This brush lasts and lasts – I’ve had mine for fifteen years and it’s still in great shape, just faded. I gave it to my daughter so now I won’t have to search for it every morning. Somehow this brush is just the right weight – it’s the ‘baby bear bed’ of brushes, not too light and not too heavy. It’s also super easy to hold on to while brushing and styling and it gives my fine hair tons of volume.

The Aveda Wooden Paddle Brush brushes through wet hair easily, detangles, and is amazing for getting a perfectly smooth blow out. The bristles are wonderful and feel fantastic on the scalp. This is the perfect brush for thick hair, thin hair, long hair, short hair, fine hair, and coarse hair. It really is the ultimate brush. Get one for yourself…you will thank me!!  – Lisa

I love Aveda products but haven’t thought about their brushes. I have a Paul Mitchell brush that I love. I had my original for about 10 years and had to replace it a couple of years ago. My roll brush is my Maralyn and it is a number of years old but practically without bristles I recently noticed. I haven’t replaced it yet but must soon. I may get this Aveda brush and be done with it. Thanks for the great review.

This sounds like a great brush, I’ll definitely have to check into it. Some may think it’s pricey but it’s better to buy one good brush that will last years than to have to buy several brushes every year or so because they don’t last.

  4. I like these brushes with beautiful and simple designs, will be reachable on my shop for my customers.
