Want to freshen up your skin for spring? Mario Badescu’s newest product, Botanical Exfoliating Scrub ($26), comes to the rescue.
I am a big believer in exfoliation and I always make sure to do a facial scrub once a week. Getting rid of that dead skin helps to prevent breakouts and also helps the effectiveness of your skin products like serums and creams. Mario Badescu, a great high-end department store line that is wonderfully affordable, sent the latest addition to their skin care line to try. I definitely like this one – it smooths, brightens, and refreshes skin with a combination of finely ground Ecuadorean Ivory Palm seeds and a blend of energizing botanicals.
This is a clear gel with tiny scrubbies that are very gentle but also effective. Ecuadorian Ivory Palm seeds are ecologically harvested and are a sustainable product from the rainforest. The process used to grind the seeds gives them a smooth polishing. So while they are great for exfoliating they don’t tear up the skin, instead leaving it fresh and glowy. Another key ingredient is coconut extract, which is excellent for hydrating even extremely sensitive skin. Also included are ginger extract and green tea extract as antioxidants and anti-inflammatories, and gingko extract to increase collagen and elasticity.
The Botanical Exfoliating Scrub became available a few days ago on mariobadescu.com, and will be at Ulta and Nordstrom in May 2015. – Lisa
