There are several reasons why I’m impressed with this new product line from L’Oreal.
1. L’Oreal has an age appropriate spokeswoman for these Age Perfect products. With Helen Mirren I feel they’ve taken a step in the right direction. Don’t show me a 20 something model and talk about wrinkles. That doesn’t speak to me. But someone who has aged as beautifully as this 73 year old actress is a great role model for the line. Here’s a quote from the UK paper, Telegraph: “Dame Helen, 72, is the oldest of the French brand’s celebrity ambassadors and has insisted that the advertisements featuring her are not digitally retouched to erase wrinkles.”
2. L’Oreal has finally realized that some people just don’t need or want fragrance in all their skincare. It was a pleasure to me to see that the AGE PERFECT CELL RENEWAL ROSY TONE MOISTURIZER is considered fragrance free. I wouldn’t have tried it otherwise.
3. While L’Oreal isn’t a cruelty free company they have at least realized that products should be paraben-free as well as free of mineral oil.
I received three L’Oreal products from Influenster. Normally all skincare is tested for 30 days minimum when I receive it but Influenster likes to make sure their testers review quickly so my experience with these is 10 days of impressions.
L’OREAL AGE PERFECT CELL RENEWAL ROSY TONE MOISTURIZER is a pink moisturizer that gives a slightly more rosy and luminous look to skin. It’s labeled for mature and dull skin. And it’s fragrance free though I do smell something when I first apply it. The rosy color is blended in easily and the moisturizer isn’t the least bit sticky.
As skin matures, its ability to renew surface cells slows down. As a result, skin’s natural pink tone is hidden and complexion becomes dull, losing its natural rosy tone of youth. Age Perfect Cell Renewal* Rosy Tone Moisturizer is a universally-flattering daily moisturizing cream enhanced with rosy pigments to instantly revive skin’s rosy tone. This tinted moisturizer for mature skin is powerfully formulated with Imperial Peony Extracts and LHA to gently exfoliate dull, sallow skin and stimulate surface cell renewal every day to revive skin’s natural rosy tone. The Result: smooth & renewed skin with a healthy and rosy complexion, immediately and over time.
L’OREAL AGE PERFECT CELL RENEWAL ROSY TONE MASK is a quickie mask. Just 5 minutes is all it takes to give you a refreshed look with a rosy glow. Now this does have fragrance but after I wash it off it doesn’t stick around for long. There’s a cool sensation when first applied which I think will be more appreciated in hotter weather. I like to use this gelee mask just before I get in the shower since it’s easiest to wash off then. This mask is enhanced with AHA and Imperial Peony.
Its purpose is to slough away dull dead skin cells and intensively refresh and rejuvenate your washed-out tone. After letting it sit on my face for about 2 minutes I then massage it to let the sloughing begin. If you like a lot of exfoliation this isn’t the ticket.
L’OREAL AGE PERFECT HYDRA-HUTRITION ALL OVER BALM isn’t a moisturizer and isn’t a balm like a lip balm. It’s in a class of its own. It’s a pure white fragranced cream to be used wherever needed. It contains nurturing oil and manuka honey which is known for its healing power. I can only reiterate what L’Oreal says about this balm because the honey fragrance didn’t agree with me at all.
It can be used on your face, neck, chest and hands. Even on my hands though I can smell it the whole time it’s on. This is meant for dry mature skin and I think it would be a great hand cream especially for those of you not bothered by fragrance.
All three of these are priced at $24.99 but most drugstores have sales and L’Oreal often has coupons in the Sunday papers so I’m sure you can find it for less. The price is a good one since these should all last a good amount of time.
I hadn’t had experience with Age Perfect products prior to this introduction but I’ll be looking at them more now that I’m aware of the line. — Marcia
