pantone colors of the year 2016pantone 2016

Top Ten Tuesday is sure that you’ve seen the above pictures of the new PANTONE COLORS OF THE YEAR 2016. Two pastels that make me very happy because they are shades that I can easily wear and want to own. I’ve always loved pink and I wear a lot of blue. Rose Quartz and Serenity will be featured in a lot of cosmetics and clothes, especially for spring. But let’s see what you can get right now.pantone makeup wars

Sally Hansen Pantone nail polishes

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Arm Candy and In Full Blue-m

Sally Hansen has some terrific polishes that will be perfect for your Pantone needs. They include

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Sugar Fix, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in In Full Blue-m, Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Set Sail

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Crème de la Crème, Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Arm Candy,  Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Petal Pusher

When wearing Sally Hansen I mostly use their Complete Salon Manicure polishes so I was thrilled to receive In Full Blue-m and Arm Candy.  Arm Candy is a sheer light pink that I needed three coats of to make sure that there wasn’t visible nail lines showing, I’d probably do better with 4 coats though since its quite sheer. In Full Blue-m is a grayed blue on me. It was a little beyond a typical pastel and is a great winter blue. With the Complete Salon Manicure polishes I get a long wear with great shine.

IT COSMETICS LIPSTICK AND LIP GLOSSES

IT Cosmetics is a great brand to turn to for a dose of Pantone 2016. There are 3 lip products that being considered this year’s shades: Je Ne Sais Quoi Vitality Lip Flush, Je Ne Sais Quoi Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Lip Gloss Stain, and New Anchor Blue Vitality Lip Flush Butter Gloss. That may be a mouthful but your mouth won’t care once you are wearing any of these.

We’ve talked about the Je Ne Sais Quoi line for quite a while. The Vitality Lip Flush is one I’ve used often. It looks almost clear in the tube but your body temperature and chemistry is what’s going to create the color. It’s the mood ring of lipstick. It has amazing hydration and a great shine so it bucks the matte trend (which is good news for me). It contains plum oil, cherry oil, shea butter, argan & jojoba, vitamins C&E, green & white tea and aloe.

Je Ne Sais Quoi Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Lip Gloss Stain has similar qualities and ingredients. It has more shine and even more hydration if that’s possible to believe. There are 9 butters and oils that make up this formula. I found this adorable Your Je Ne Sais Quoi Set at Ulta that contains both the Lipstick and Gloss in an adorable bag for just $28. Total bargain. Total Pantone 2016.

News Anchor Blue Vitality Flush Butter Gloss is the most fun lipgloss ever. No you won’t have blue lips but your teeth will look whiter wearing this gloss. This applies on your lips as a teeny bit light blue but is really clear. It counteracts the yellow you might have on your teeth to make your smile look even brighter. If you are in love with hydrating glosses then IT Cosmetics is what you want on your shopping list.

SURRATT CULTIVE PRISMATIQUE LIPSTICK was one of my treats to myself during the VIB sale. I couldn’t resist this blue lipstick that turns opalescent pink once applied. It’s wonderful to apply over another lipstick to change that up too. I’m a big fan of the Surratt Prismatique lipsticks and just could resist this fun one.

Last is a product I don’t have but I am seriously eyeing,  YOUNGBLOOD GLAMOUR EYES PALETTE. I’ve seen this on a variety of blogs and I love the particular shades of blue in it. I like that they are paired with browns making it easy to wear. Glamour Eyes is the next palette on my list.

  1. This morning, the sky was a beautiful mixture of Rose Quartz and Serenity… I wished I had taken a photo! Love the products – I still can’t get into wearing blue lipstick, but I’m glad that companies are at least trying to coordinate for Pantone!

  2. Love the products you showed! I’m honestly obsessed with the IT Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi lip set and those polish shades are so pretty! Great post!

  3. Unfortunately, the 6 photos of the Sally Hansen polishes wouldn’t show up on my screen, but the pale pink and blue did. The blue looks a lot like the Zoya Blu that I own. So pretty! The Surratt Prismatique lipstick is so cool. What’s very nice about these two shades is that I own so many things already that I don’t have to buy much!

  4. I love your Pantone picks! I see lots and lots of wants here!

  5. Nice roundup! The blue lipstick is definitely original!

  6. I really like that IT cosmetics lipstick! It looks gorgeous!

  7. Great post! I’m actually glad you wrote about that blue lipstick; I had something just like it in middle school, something that was blue but turned an iridescent purple on the lips, and I’ve been trying to find something like it for years. I’m totally going to seek it out!

  8. You’re all set with so many nice picks! I need to pick up some of the Surratt things, but I’ve seen mixed reviews.

  9. What a fun post! I love playing with the Pantone Color(s) of the year each and every year, so I’ll have to look for a few of these products!

That blue-clear lip gloss is so interesting! I’ve never seen anything like it!

  10. I love the blue gloss!

  11. Love those nail polishes and the Youngblood palette!

  12. I’m so glad I got to review the Youngblood Glamour Eyes Quad. It really is a nice, wearable selection of blues and browns. I gave my Je Ne Sais Quoi to my mom, and we were afraid it was going to turn hot pink, but it didn’t! She actually loved the soft pink it turned into. Those blue lippies look like a lot of fun – I actually have a couple of blue ones, but they go on and stay blue.

  13. Great picks to match up with the Pantone colors!

  14. I love these subtle colors!! Such a great reason for these to be color of the year! <3

  15. I am kind of obsessed with Sugar Fix but I’m definitely going to need Full Blue-m too. I wasn’t sure how well the Pantone colours would translate to the makeup world, but there are some great options.

  16. Oh I like the surrantt lipstick. I think I need it in my life!

  17. I’m just not into these colors, but you picked some great examples!

  18. I am so happy with these colours this year, too!
