Starting a new year makes me think about skincare more and more. I don’t really make New Year’s Resolutions but I do try to start the year off with a new attitude about skincare and how it can keep me looking fresher than a daisy. Well actually let’s say fresher than a Lady’s Mantle which is the flower that Kneipp has used in one of their skincare lines.
To prove I’m not too old to keep on learning, I just learned about Lady’s Mantle and what its uses are. According to drug.com “Lady’s mantle has been used topically and internally, as a treatment for wounds, gastrointestinal complaints, and female ailments. Its tannin content appears to justify astringent and antidiarrheal uses. It may protect conjunctive and elastic tissues and possibly be useful as an antioxidant.” The plant is rich in tannins, salicylic acid, essential oil, bitter substances and phytosterols. It also contains vitamin C and numerous minerals. Lady’s Mantle is rich in antioxidants and helps rid of free radicals and ensures skin’s elasticity for anti-aging benefits. Lady’s Mantle has also been known to calm common skin issues such as eczema and rashes.samples.some affiliates
Kneipp has a complete line of products that are in their Lady’s Mantle category and I was sent a few to test out. One of my personal problems with trialing skincare is that I’m so sensitive to fragrance in the products and that’s what happened to me and these products. The line seems excellent but the fragrant aroma isn’t one that I tolerate well. I believe that others won’t notice it though and that it’s just my personal affliction. I’ve used 3 of the products though and have 2 to give away to a new
This creamy cleanser is one that is used differently than most cleansers. I pump it out and apply it to dry skin. Then I take a moist washcloth to activate and to remove. It doesn’t foam up and interestingly enough it doesn’t leave behind a soapy film. Of course you can use it in the same way you would any other cleanser but by doing it this way it not only gives a gentle cleansing but it leaves behind lasting moisture.
Kneipp uses natural ingredients and the two main ones in this are lady’s mantle extract and nourishing almond oil. I can use this during the day but I prefer not to wash with it at night. It can be used as an eye makeup remover too (I haven’t tried it that way.)
The tonic is to be used after cleansing. It removes whatever cleanser might be left behind. It can also be used any time during the day to refresh your skin. The fragrance of this surprised me since it’s much more “spicy” smelling. It doesn’t have the sweetness of the Cleansing Milk because it contains a mint extract. “The KNEIPP® LADY’S MANTLE FACE TONIC – “REACTIVATION” with its combination of natural functional ingredients with lady’s mantle extract and mint freshens and refines the appearance of the skin.” Use it as you would any toner by shaking some out on a cotton pad and apply in circular movements. It’s pretty refreshing actually but the fragrance does linger for several minutes on me.
“The KNEIPP® LADY’S MANTLE 24h FACE CREAM – “REACTIVATION” with its combination of natural functional ingredients with lady’s mantle extract is suitable as a day as well as a night cream. It protects the skin from photoaging and free radicals. The smoothing intensive care pampers the skin with long-lasting moisture and a gentle fragrance.”
I haven’t used this so I can’t give you a personal experience. I know that it has a sweet floral fragrance and that it looks rich and creamy. I’ve chosen not to use it even though I have no doubt it’s a great moisturizer therefore I will be sending this to one of our readers.

Each packet of this face mask has two treatments in it. What I like about this particular mask is that it’s a cream mask that doesn’t dry down completely on my skin. It only takes 10 minutes to use so what I do is apply it as I’m getting ready to shower, then I wash it off in the shower. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. It’s currently on sale on their website for $3.25 a packet.
