I’m finally there. I have accepted that summer is over, and now I am enjoying every second of the gorgeous colors in the trees, the crisp air, and wearing sweaters again. With the change of season comes a brand new collection from KBShimmer called All The Fall Things, which features 9 Polishes plus 3 fall stickers.
Per usual, KBShimmer has the most adorable names ever for their polishes. Today I have four of the nine polishes for you: Glazed & Confused, Slay Cozy, Thyme on My Hands, and Fully Booked. Soon Marcia will be posting her review of the remaining five shades: Bittersweet Symphony, Quantum Leaf, Washed Up, Eyes on the Pies, and Foreseeable Fuchsia. The full set is $85, or you can purchase shades individually for $10 each.
First up is Glazed & Confused. This is KBShimmer’s nod to those delicoius donuts that taste so amazing on cool autumn mornings. The crelly base is a very pale gray. There’s a touch of holo, so it looks similar to the glaze on a donut. Glazed & Confused has beautiful flakes that are so many colors it’s incredible – blue, red, pink, orange, green, gold…with every shift of the hand it seems like a new color materializes. I like 3 thin coats for the best effect by itself, and 1 thin coat over a cream shade for something completely different.
Slay Cozy is, I think, the quintessential copper for fall. Seriously, have you ever seen a more gorgeous warm burnt orange? Slay Cozy is like every single autumn leaf color in a linear holographic pigment. My only problem is when I wear this color, I can’t stop looking at my nails. I’ve found Slay Cozy to be quite dangerous when driving. Two thin coats will give you absolute fall nail perfection.
With all the glitz of the rest of the collection, in the bottle the cream Thyme On My Hands looks like the less attractive sister. However, this herb-inspired olive green is really beautiful. I didn’t think I would like it, but I definitely do, and it’s such a wonderful shade for fall. It’s like your favorite pair of comfy khakis.
I am partial to KBShimmer’s linear holo pigments shades, and Fully Booked is outstanding. This is another absolutely mesmerizing shade, an olive-green that has multipile personalities depending on the lighting. No one does holo as well as KBShimmer, and Fully Booked has me convinced that their holos are only getting better.
