Is this another winner? Kryolan High Definition Cream Liner

Kryolan HD Cream Liner

Continuing my obsession with all things Kryolan, let’s talk Cream Liners. I am always switching between pencil and gel or cream eyeliners and while I tend to be boring with my eyeshadow shades I am far more adventurous with my eyeliner colors. Kryolan’s High Definition Cream Liner ($15.95) comes in 23 different shades from Snow to Ebony to everything in between, so there is a lot to play with.

Cream Liner is an especially color intensive eye liner for fashionable, flawless eyelining. Cream Liner does not drip. It is comfortable to apply and is water-resistant. Its durability makes it ideally suited in a very special way, also for professional applications. Apply the product with a brush onto the desired area.

The cream liner is housed in a plastic tub which is so much nicer than the glass jars from other lines – no worries about breaking if you have pre-coffee jitters in the morning!

Kryolan HD Cream Liner in Sky Blue

Sky Blue is a lovely medium blue with a slight opalescence that fades a bit throughout the day to a slightly lighter blue.

Kryolan HD Cream Liner in Sparkling Black

Sparkling Black is a bit of a mystery to me – neither sparkling nor black, it’s not at all what the name promises! I would not classify this as sparkling. It has some shimmer but it is very subtle. This is not a dark black either – more of a deep gray/blue.  Interesting and pretty, but definitely not correctly named.

I love the texture of the Cream Liner. It’s far creamier than MAC or Bobbi Brown gel liners. Kryolan Cream Liners work well as liners and as eyeshadows or as a base for a smoky eye look. There is a lot of play time, a good minute or two, but once it sets it stays and doesn’t migrate anywhere. Removal needs waterproof makeup remover. Cry all you want, this stuff isn’t going anywhere! That means this is PERFECT for the waterline, which in my book means it’s worth having in my collection.

Because it is so creamy and it has high pigmentation, you don’t need to use much. If you use too much, it takes a longer time to dry. I used quite a few different kinds of brushes and my favorite ended up being my Make Up For Ever 254 brush.

I love the packaging, the texture and pigmentation, the play time, and the wear of the Kryolan HD Cream Liners. I’m not crazy about the name for Sparkling Black and I wonder if Vanilla Sparkle and Sparkling Silver also have misleading names…the Vanilla Sparkle swatch doesn’t look sparkly to me….but otherwise, I am calling the Kryolan HD Cream Liners another winner in a line full of winners.  – Lisa

  1. I agree with you: Sparkling Black looks more like a purple/blue duochrome, but truth be told, I was looking for a shade just like that so I am going to take a look at it when I go to Boston in a couple of weeks and visit the store that sells Kryolan!

  2. Sparkling Black definitely looks neither black, nor sparkling to me either, but I do think that it is quite pretty. I still haven’t tried anything from Kryolan, but will keep an eye out to take a closer look in person.
