How to apply false eyelashes in four easy steps!

Are you afraid to try false eyelashes because it seems like applying them is impossible? Putting on falsies is actually extremely easy once you know the basic tricks!  This tutorial features the four basic steps to getting gorgeous lashes using ESQIDO false lashes in Oh So Sweet, a criss/cross lash, and Miss Dolly, an alternating lengths lash.

Gather up those supplies…having everything ready is essential

1.  First gather up your supplies:  headband, mirror, false eyelashes, steel palette, glue, brush, scissors, and black eyeshadow. Bend your eyelashes into a curve so they naturally lie correctly on the eye, then put them on without glue to determine fit. Snip off any excess from the outer corner – not the inner corner.Eyelash application tutorial

2.  Put dollop of eyelash glue on a steel palette – I prefer DUO strip eyelash adhesive in the non-waterproof version. I like to use the throw-away plastic applicators that come in my Latisse set, but you can use any brush or even the non-tweezer end of your tweezers. Just dip it into the glue then spread on the false eyelash rim. If you are super talented, you can apply the glue right from the tube…but I am not that talented.Eyelash application tutorial

Don’t worry, the white glue dries clear. In fact, do NOT get black glue because it doesn’t dry clear, and any stray glue becomes a very visible ‘oops’. Apply a little more glue to the outer edges of the lash to ensure a firm grip and no fly-away lashes.

3.  Wait!  Don’t apply the lashes immediately, you want the glue to dry a bit and become tacky. I gently blow on the glue for about ten seconds and then it’s good to go.

4.  Apply to the base of your natural lash line, as close to your own lashes as possible. I used to get very frustrated because I have a ‘ledge’, so I often end up with the dreaded gap and I used to take the lashes off and start over. Now, I just fill in any space with some dark black eyeshadow. I like Makeup Geek Pencil Brush and the black eyeshadow in my Kevyn Aucoin Palette #6.My biggest tip:  I find the best method to apply falsies is with my hair held back with a headband, my elbows on a table, looking down into a mirror. I just can’t do it sitting up straight!  ESQIDO false lashes make such a difference – take a look:
