Low point of the day: going to the restroom after almost a full day of work, glancing in the mirror and seeing – cringe cringe cringe – a big old zit on the side of your nose. Or on your chin. Or anywhere on your face…and you realize it has been there for hours, through meetings and presentations and that chance run in with the very handsome guy down the hall. Yup. It’s time to get serious about some exfoliation.
Lately I have been loving the MDSUN Exfoliation Pads that I was sent to test. These aren’t the nasty, skin killing pads of our youth…they are gentle but super effective pads of awesomeness that dissolve debris and old skin cells and make unexpected day zits a thing of the past.
These little pads of goodness tackle exfoliation through a two-tiered approach. The first layer is glycolic acid, polyhydroxy acid, lactobionic acid, and essential vitamins that de-clog pores and dissolve excess skin cells while also moisturizing skin. The next layer is a mixture of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients that calm irritated skin and hydrate even more deeply.
MDSUN warns that the pads might cause a stinging sensation, but that doesn’t happen for me at all. The pads have a slight fragrance that reminds me of baby powder. I use a pad at night after cleansing and don’t put any other treatment on my skin. After about a half hour or so, my skin actually feels sort of oily. MDSUN says this is from ‘skin burial’, when skin produces oils that seal in the hydration.
One jar of the Skin Exfoliating Pads has 30 pads, but it lasts me several months since I find I only need to use this every three days. That makes the price of $78 a little more palatable, and you can also order a sample for $4 to try it out for yourself before making the investment.
The end result? Clear skin, glowing skin tone, and a super soft face. Oh, and far less of those ‘look in the mirror and die of embarrassment’ moments.
