I am always, always running late and need things to help me save time. My hair is a huge time investment – washing, drying, styling…it takes forever, especially since I happen to have a long hairstyle, but anyone who has hair that needs attention can relate. Today I have two of products that save time and save my butt when I oversleep, and two lucky Beauty Info Zone readers will be winners of our giveaway!!

Dove Dry Shampoos

My first time-saving secret is dry shampoo. My blog partner Marcia knows that I always want to test the dry shampoo…I live on this stuff! But not all dry shampoo is alike.  Some are too wet, some smell too strong, some are so white they doesn’t blend in well and are difficult to use. But a good dry shampoo is, well, dry – so you don’t have to stand around waiting for it soak up oil and dirt. It’s either fragrance-free or it has a light scent that just freshens hair, and it goes on close to clear so there’s no wrestling with a brush to try to blend it in.

Dove Unscented Dry Shampoo

I am loving the Dove Dry ShampoosDove Unscented Dry Shampoo ($5) is the perfect dry shampoo for anyone who doesn’t want any fragrance. It soaks up any dirt and oil, and I love that it’s not too wet. Just hold this a few inches from the scalp and spray, then wait a few minutes. Brush or massage in lightly, and you won’t believe how great your hair looks. The price is right, too!

Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo

Dove Refresh + Care Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo ($4) This version is a little different in that it has a light fragrance that is pleasant but not overpowering. It also gives a little more texture to hair, so it’s a great choice for those with limp or fine hair who want more oomph and volume.  Concentrate the spray around the hairline and at the crown for the best results, and you’ll be on your way with time to stop at Starbucks for a Mocha Latte!

A whole other way to tackle the hair issue is with the PonyDry. So, you are going to take a shower anyway, right? And for those of us with longer hair, the part that gets really dirty is at the scalp. What if you could just wash your scalp, keeping the rest of your hair nice and dry?? Think of all the time you could save not having to dry and style all that hair! That’s what the PonyDry does for you. The PonyDry is basically a shower cap for your ponytail. You put it on your ponytail, then wash just your scalp and roots, getting rid of the areas where you’ve been sweating and producing oil. This means way less dry time and way less styling time. It’s pretty genius.

Here’s a video to show you how it works: You actually leave the PonyDry on while you blow your hair dry, which (quite handily) gives you tons of volume. You need to have at least shoulder length hair for PonyDry to work properly. It comes in two colors, pink and black. It’s available for $19.99 at  Here’s my daughter before she used it:She thought it was great, although it took her a few times to get the hang of it. Her hair is shoulder length. My hair is much longer and I think the longer your hair, the easier it is to use the PonyDry from the get-go.

You could be one of the lucky two who wins a PonyDry for herself! Why not try? We all could use some extra time in the morning!  – Lisa
