In my attempt to avoid dull, dry winter skin I have been reaching for highlighters lately, and the creamy Boots No7 Skin Illuminator ($10) has become a go-to solution.
There is a lot to like about the Skin Illuminator. I am really glad Boots sent us the product to try, because I am sure I never would have purchased it on my own. With my combination skin, a shimmery cream highlighter is usually way too much for me. But this one works!
There are only two shades available, gold and pink, and I tried the pink. This liquid illuminator is fragrance-free and has an excellent price point for a nice amount of product. It smooths on beautifully and is a great way to brighten skin on no-makeup days.
I really like how this liquid illuminator gives my skin a soft glow without too much shimmer. However, I am not a big fan of the packaging. I never use the brush itself. I just squeeze out some product onto my steel palette and either smooth it on to my skin or else mix some in with my foundation. The swatch pictured is a lot of product – way too much for anyone’s face, but this way you can see the color. I then blended it in some, and then some more. I like how I can alter the intensity of the effect and go as light or as heavy as I want.
Boots No7 is easily found online or at drugstores like Target and Walgreens. I think there are some awesome finds in the line, and the Skin Illuminator is definitely one of them! – Lisa
