Glow 2020 with Ultra Violet Skin Care!

My house is old – built in 1850. That means it has tons of character, and it also has tons of drafts. Winter in Michigan hasn’t even been that difficult this year but I have my heat cranked up all the time to battle that nasty chill. My house is always nice and toasty now but my skin…it’s so dry I don’t even have to worry about a shiny nose anymore. I need mega hydration! sample

Ultra Violet Advanced Skincare has two products that have been saving my skin. They definitely work – in fact, I was at a party last weekend and I had three different people say “You have such great skin!” Thank goodness they didn’t see me before I started my Ultra Violet regimen of lipid drench and phyto retinol.

Lipid drench ($58) is a luxury facial oil accelerator that soothes and heals dry skin, from just slightly dry to desert flaky. It specifically works for ‘mature exposure to moisture dry climates, which depressingly works for my post-50 year visage as I sit on my couch. Sigh.

Ultra Violet lipid drench

Lipid drench is an extremely concentrated serum that is more than just a serum; it’s actually an accelerator that can be added to a serum or a moisturizer. By adding it to another skin care treatment lipid drench changes and enhances the treatment. You can also use it all by itself as a lovely treatment.

What I appreciate about accelerators is they give you the ability to really customize your skin care. My skin is a different animal at various times of the year – summers I am way too oily, and winters I am Sahara dry. I can take my favorite skin care and make it perfect no matter what the weather is or what my hormones feel like doing to me.

Lipid drench ingredients include:

  • Moisturizing lipids: found naturally in skin, these lipids hold comforting moisture between skin cells
  • Lipid-rich plant oils: provides essential lipids to smooth rough skin and reinforce skin’s natural barrier
  • Azulene: soothing blue calmative from chamomile
  • Sandalwood, phellodendron & barley: increases skin’s moisture, revives softness
  • Tocopheryl acetate: vitamin E ester, keeps skin lipids fresh, protects natural radiance
  • Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate: stabilized, time-released vitamin C helps reduce risk of clogged pores
  • Retinyl palmitate: storage form of vitamin A; helps visibly soften surface signs of aging
  • Cholecalciferol: Vitamin D3, required for skin’s healthy vitality

Instantly customizes treatments in the palm of your hand • Adapts skincare routine as skin’s needs change • Reprograms dry skin for long lasting softness and immediate comfort • Revitalizes for fresher looking, more radiant skin immediately • Supercharges cremes, masques & other complexes • Eliminates dehydrated surface lines with time • New lines form more slowly, if at all

I adore this accelerator. You don’t need much at all, just a drop or two. It really drenches my skin with moisture and gets rid of dry, flaky skin. I combine it with my other treatment serums and moisturizer for my face, and I use it by itself on my neck and decolletage. The difference is immediate. Lipid drench has a pleasantly light herbal scent of cloves and lavender and I love the price!

Ultra Violet phyo-retinol

Even though it can seem like my skin is shedding all by itself it actually needs exfoliation to stay clear and uncongested. I also have lots of issues with hyperpigmentation, so the phyto retinol radiance renewal complex ($99) is perfect for my skin. It uses PhytoRetinoid Technology which makes cells turnover more quickly, getting rid of flakes while also treating fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

• Resynchronizes firmness and elasticity • Supercharges dull, tired complexions • Intensifies radiance • Normalizes signs of past damage • Restores youthful tone and clarity

The ingredients include:

  • Revinage ®: multitasking phytoretinoid reactivates youthful skin by increasing cell turnover and plumping the skin from the inside out visibly reducing signs of deepest wrinkles. Firms, brightens, smooth and clarifies
  • Matrixyl® synthe’6®: facial architectural peptide supports 6 skin rebuilding essentials for a firmer matrix, and a smoother, stronger, volumized and line free skin
  • Rubixyl® : cell-signaling corneotherapy peptide strengthens epidermal structures, restores cell signaling and prevents “inflammaging” induced aging; reduces TEWL, smoothes deep lines and wrinkles
  • Niacinamide: (vitamin B3) restructures the barrier and reduces TEWL, while suppressing hostile skin flora that can endanger repair; energizes skin tone, increases firmness and radiance
  • Carob Seed Extract: phyto-repair molecules accelerate the recovery capacity of the damaged skin, rapidly reducing signs of redness, barrier damage and tissue damage
  • Mung Bean Sprout Stem Cells:  protects collagen and ECM (extracellular matrix) from harmful environmental conditions and photo-damage, reducing signs of sensitivity in addition to enhancing firmness and elasticity
  • Garden Sprout Extract: supports skin’s natural detoxifying enzymes while enhancing cellular resistance and promoting the elimination of environmental toxins
  • Biosaccharide Gum-1: soothing sugar hydrator; softens, hydrates and imparts immediate and long- lasting softness and comfort
  • Rosehip: rich in antioxidant vitamins A & C and barrier replenishing linoleic and linolenic acids, revives skin’s smooth and youthful appearance

This is a fabulous retinol product for anyone who has struggled with retinoids in the past. Many people find retinols to be drying, which is NOT what I need this season. However, this is probably the most gentle retinol product I have used but it’s still as effective as those with higher strengths. Phyto retinol is a light, creamy lotion that feels hydrating but not greasy. It is terrific for anyone who battles uneven skin tone, congested pores, or wrinkles – or all three, the trifecta!

You can find Ultra Violet Advanced Skin Care online at – they have so many great products, including seven different types of accelerators.  – Lisa
