If you want to look perfect, then go to the cosmetics lines that are used in the film and television industries. High definition film and photography capture every single detail, every tiny line and wrinkle…so the makeup needs to make you look as fantastic as possible. Kryolan is an industry darling and their HD range is a cult favorite. I’ve been writing a lot about Kryolan lately – their motto is ‘Makeup is a science.’ Kryolan makes their own makeup, which is rare – pretty much unheard of – in the cosmetics industry. They have done this for three generations, coming up with the concept, manufacturing the product, and then ‘loving it into existence.’ Well, you are going to love their HD MICRO FOUNDATION SMOOTHING FLUID ($47.95), because it absolutely will get you ready for your close up.sample
The HD Micro Foundation Smoothing Fluid bottle is awesome – very hygienic, very easy to use. It’s plastic, and you can squeeze out just enough product without air or germs getting to the rest of the foundation. Nice.
Kryolan says, “HD Micro Foundation Smoothing Fluid is a soft, micronized foundation with anti-aging complex and protects the skin from harmful environmental influences – for a perfect appearance. Ideally suited for natural looking make-up for high definition camera work in photography, fashion shows, show events, weddings and more. Apply Smoothing Fluid thinly and evenly with a fine-pore make-up sponge or foundation brush. Allow to set briefly and powder if necessary with Micro Finish Powder. ECARF certified.”
If you don’t have a store that carries the Kryolan line near you it is not the easiest to find your correct shade. There are 21 shades available via the Kryolan website and I guessed that #340 would be my shade based on the online swatches which aren’t the best. When my foundation arrived I thought it was going to be way too dark for me, but it turned out to be a great match for my neutral light/medium skin.
The foundation has a creamy texture that applies on the dry side. You don’t have a lot of play time for buffing, but you also don’t need to do much – it blends in immediately and covers every flaw while somehow melding with skin, looking extremely natural, not like a cover up. The foundation has a soft radiance to it that is wonderful – very natural and it gives skin a glowy boost.
I’m looking at my face right now and it’s exactly 13 hours since I applied the foundation. I purposely didn’t touch up during the day with any pressed powder (oh the sacrifices I make for this blog!). If I were to go back out on the town I would need to touch up under my eyes and powder my nose which is a little shiny. That’s it. The foundation holds up extremely well, especially with the Kryolan HD Micro Primer underneath which I previously reviewed HERE.
I am loving the Kryolan High Definition Micro Foundation Smoothing Fluid as much as I hoped I would – it’s my favorite foundation find so far this year. You can find Kryolan online at. – Lisa
