Have you taken a swing through the Hard Candy makeup selection at Walmart lately? If you haven’t you are in for a delightful surprise. Hard Candy has added some new beautiful products that bring you glam or glitz and everything in between. If you already have Hard Candy in your collection then you know what I mean when I say that their cosmetics have a quality that is unknown in that price range. If you aren’t an aficionado yet, you’ll become one once you’ve had the pleasure of using the cosmetics. I have so many in constant use that bring a smile to my face. I also have some that are perfect for one off occasions when I need something for that perfect party/event but don’t expect to use it that often. Hard Candy does all that for you and me.samples, affliates
We all know that highlighting is the thing! There are an incredible amount of highlighting palettes out at all price ranges. I love them all but I don’t highlight all the time so spending $9 on one of the Just Glow! Baked Highlighting Trios is perfect. There are 4 total: Meet Me in Tahiti (reviewed today)
Cruisin’ the Coast
A Touch of Midnight (silvery tones)
and Rooftop Rendezvous
Now you can’t tell me that these aren’t trendy and beautiful. The Baked Highlighting Trios are mistakenly called Hard Candy Baked Trio Eyeshadow on the Walmart site but don’t be fooled, these are the Highlighting Trios that are meant for your nose, brow bone, cheek bone, top of the chin and anywhere you like to highlight. The shades are lighter than I like for my eyes but adding a quick wash over my shadows adds a lovely sheen. The palettes come with a blending brush that you won’t believe. It’s soft and efficient. I would buy the brush alone so it’s a bonus that it comes in the palette.
I love the shades in Meet Me in Tahiti. The first is a soft golden peach, the middle a light gold, and the third a darker bronzey shade.
Even though they are baked they don’t feel that hard, actually they are a great texture to use on cheeks etc since they don’t kick back a lot of powder. And even though they are glittery the glitter doesn’t migrate if you are careful. Any of these 4 Just Glow! trios would be perfect for Prom and graduation parties.
If you really want to up the glam and glitz factor that’s where Metal Glaze comes in. These are so unique and fantastic at just $5 each (in store only, not online). Four shades are available with these too and would work great the palettes.
These are called a Liquid Metallic Foil and they are recommended for eyes, brows, and lips. I have it in gold to show you and it’s the most intense gold. You will really stand out with one of these on. As a cream eyeshadow wearer I couldn’t wait to try it out. My advice is to shake it first since it can be a little watery otherwise. It’s totally budgeproof. I doesn’t come off until you use a makeup remover to remove it. Water doesn’t touch the color on my eyes. It’s there. I also recommend that you start with a little and build up if you want more.
Metal Glaze is infused with coconut water for hydration. Available in Gold, Burgundy, Rose Gold and Silver they are just fun and trendy items that you’ll enjoy.
For the more staid in us and the adventurer too there are 16 shades of Stroke of Gorgeous Long Wear Eyeliner Pencils ($5). The 16 shades are available in 5 versions.
Creamy Matte shades are Soy (black), Jailbreak (charcoal), and Dark Chocolate. Shimmer shades are Ice Queen (silver, Don’t wine). Glitter pencils are Abyss (black) and Treasure Chest (charcoal). The Chromes are Gold Nugget, Bronze Champion, Silver Fox, and Hot Pants and these pair perfectly with the Just Glow! palettes). Then there are the High Intensity Brights that are dupes for much more expensive liners: Firecracker (bright orange), Wink Wink (cobalt blue), Kryptonite (green), Twisted Grape, and Deep Sea (teal).
The four I have give me a long lasting finish that lasts. I don’t usually have great luck with pencils under my eyes but these are really budge proof. Plus when I apply them I have play time to smudge if I want.
Why would I pay $20 for an Urban Decay eyeliner in a trendy color like Kryptonite or Deep Sea when I can get a terrific pencil for $5?
As you can easily tell, I’m impressed with these newest Hard Candy items. There are many items that aren’t appropriate for my age, there are many that I wish I could wear more often, and there are quite a few that are perfect for my life. Their quality has improved and their prices have remained wonderfully affordable. — Marcia
