I always talk about how important it is to keep up with your skin and to use quality products but I didn’t take my own advice this fall. I had knee replacement surgery in October that was extremely traumatic to my system. It’s not that I’m a bad patient, it’s that my system fails me when I go through something epic. Nothing works right from head to toe. It wasn’t just my knee and the awful pain, it was everything about my body. The reason I’m confessing is that for 6 weeks I used basically no skincare. I couldn’t stand for more than a few minutes for the first 2 weeks and I could only sit in one particular chair for the next 4 weeks. Once in a while I’d put on a serum, moisturizer or eye cream but actually – I just didn’t care.
Well that left my skin a mess. Once I was finally recuperating I used my 8X mirror and gasped in horror. Not only did I have disgusting brows and facial hair but my skin was so incredibly dry that it was flaking off. I hadn’t even exfoliated much since showering was so difficult.sample*, purchases, affliate links
I needed the big guns. To the rescue came OzNaturals Dragon’s Blood Facial Serum*, The Better Skin Co. Amaze Balm, and GlamGlow Bright Eyes. And they did rescue my skin. I’m back and happy with the way my skin is looking and even trying new products for the blog.
Let me start with OzNaturals Dragon’s Blood Facial Serum. I’ve got to let you know that I love this stuff. OzNaturals uses a process called Cold Processing. It’s unique because the key ingredients are never heated, boiled or melted during or after production. This preserves the beneficial values and efficacy of the key ingredients. Plus OzNaturals is cruelty free, gluten free, and plant based.
Dragon’s Blood Facial Serum has not harmed any dragons so you can feel comfortable about that! It’s a delightful smelling serum that’s not watery nor is it thick. It has a citrus scent that is right up my alley. It smooths on beautifully without making my skin feel sticky. It plays well with my foundation, sunscreen and moisturizer which makes it perfect any time of day or night. The serum is beneficial for all skin types, especially those with acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, rosacea, skin tags, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles. I’m going to try it soon on my many skin tags and see how it goes.
Now let’s talk about Dragon’s Blood: “For centuries, Dragon’s Blood has been used to help heal and regenerate the skin by causing rapid cellular turnover. This serum has many therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory compounds which help protect the cells of the skin, helps reduce redness and swelling, aids in the repair of collagen, and may help to heal skin tissue such as scarring, hyperpigmentation, skin tags and other skin disorders. It’s one of the most powerful antioxidants on the planet!” DRAGON’S BLOOD RESIN: This powerful antioxidant, extracted from the sap of a tropical tree, is up to 20 times more potent than Vitamin C and 50 times more effective than Vitamin E.
The main ingredients are Dragon’s Blood, Vitamin C, Green Tea, and Rose Hips.
I’ll be reviewing more OzNaturals next month but let me assure you that this $24.95 Blood Dragon’s Serum is wonderful!! (available too on Amazon)
I’ve reviewed The Better Skin Co. before and when my skin was so dry I quickly thought of Better Skin Co. Amaze Balm. This is an ultra rich formula that has worked wonders. I’m back to exfoliating and the combination of masks/exfoliation and Amaze Balm is amazing.
It does all this plus it heals dry dry skin. This is a staple for me and I can’t recommend it highly enough. For a less expensive but just as good option try Better Skin Mirakle Cream which also has a brightening aspect to it.
Before I went in for surgery I had bought myself a treat, GLAMGLOW BRIGHT EYES. I was fascinated by the cuteness of it and the glowing reviews I had read.
I’m very pleased with this and find that it’s kept my bags and fine lines at bay. “This fast-absorbing cream works on all skin tones to energize and brighten under and around the eye for a well-rested look. With linoleic acid, watermelon, apple, and narcissus extracts, it helps repair the delicate eye-area skin’s moisture barrier and prevent future signs of fatigue while gently erasing the look of fine lines and wrinkles in just four weeks.”
– Illuminating Spheres: Brighten dark circles.
– Caffeine: Energizes and revitalizes.
– Hyaluronic Acid: Plumps and hydrates all day.
– Peptides: Help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles around the entire eye area.
Is this the be all and end all of eye creams? Not really but it’s very moisturizing and has an illuminating pearl extract that is great during daytime use. It helps to light up your eye area and lessen the puffiness. It was a great purchase for me.
These three products have turned my skin around and helped me get back in the groove. Do you have products that are this important in your skincare routine? — Marcia
