I have a question for you. Truth…or dare? Which one appeals to you more? Me, I am a dare girl. I want to try everything and the more unusual it sounds, the more interested I am. When I first read about Rozge Cosmeceutical’s new Lip Gloss ($25), I was intrigued by the ingredients – of course I want anything that has Dragon’s Blood in it! I’m so glad you dared me!! Rozge sent me two shades of the Lip Gloss to test, and happily the Dragon’s Blood wasn’t just a rumor.
Dragon’s Blood isn’t really the witch potion ingredient it sounds like, but it’s still rather exotic. It’s a tree sap that comes from the Amazon Rainforest, included because of its healing properties (not to mention the super cool name). Other ingredients are great for lips too, including shea butter, Aloe vera, sunflower oil, jojoba oil and safflower oil. The lip gloss is 100% vegan.
The packaging is fabulous, with a side mirror and a click-on light that is pretty powerful. The light goes on when you click the button on top of the wand. Since it only lights up when you want it to, the light doesn’t wear out quickly. There is an extensive color range with 22 different shades, all named after major cities from around the world.
The Lip Gloss has a smooth and silky texture with terrific non-sticky slip. It tastes pleasantly minty from the essential mint oil. I am impressed with the excellent pigmentation, and the color layers well to build intensity. Both shades I tried have great shine and make lips look lush and full.
Amsterdam is a bright deep pink with silver shimmer. It’s a gorgeous pop of color that is great for medium and darker skin tones.
Las Vegas is a lighter cool pink with a more subtle shimmer. This is a shade that all skin tones can pull off.
For a review of the shades Florence and Paris, check out The Unknown Beauty Blog post. That’s where I first read about Rozge Lip Gloss. I have great news, too – Rozge Cosmeceuticals is running a promo code through the month of September, Rozge20. The promo code gives you 20% off your entire purchase at www.Rozge.com. Go ahead, try the Dragon’s Blood infused Rozge Cosmeceuticals Lip Gloss…I dare you! – Lisa
