City Beauty introduces new shades of City Lips and we’re grateful for that

It’s been a while since the beauty world has paid much attention to City Beauty but it’s their time now to shine in the sun. The company has repackaged their products with sleek new and enticing boxes and added products that we all need and want.

City Beauty is not your average beauty company. We specialize in what we call “functional beauty,” meaning all of our products are designed to not only make you look beautiful while you wear them, but to provide deeper benefits.

The City Beauty line is designed with skin-rejuvenating and collagen-supporting actives such as Hyaluronic Acid, Oligopeptides, Resveratrol, and Vitamin C, just to name a few.

Each product is formulated to target specific concerns — whether it’s to volumize thinning lips, brighten dark spots, improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, or smooth skin texture.

We pride ourselves on being a cruelty-free company — and always ensure our products go through the most rigorous quality testing.

We’ll be sharing several of their expanded line over the next two months and we wanted to start with City Lips since that’s what got us to know about City Beauty all those years ago. We have mattes, gloss and the original plumper to show you so you can see what you are missing.

City Lips glosses

The gloss lips from City Beauty are color and plumper in one coming in the 10 shades show above, the newest ones are these opaque shades. I have Pink Nude which is a very light pinky beige on me and very glossy. They are tingly and I notice that tingle for about 5 minutes after applying. This may not work for some people but I welcome the sensation knowing that my thin lips will end up with a little more to them. It doesn’t hurt but it’s noticeable.

When I swatched Pink Nude on my hand it showed to be almost invisible, like an enhanced clear, but on my lips it’s a totally different story. My natural lip color combined with the color of Pink Nude brings me a shade I’m very comfortable wearing. It’s a light pink that is very very glossy and very attractive.

I notice a few less lines in my lips which is a nice touch when you aren’t comfortable with the way your lips wrinkle up.

City Lips in Sun Diego, Clear, and Rosy Mauve

Like Marcia, I notice the tingle when I apply the City Lips lip glosses but it feels good and I know that the results are going to be great. They also have a slight minty flavor that is pleasant. I naturally have thin lips that are getting more and more wrinkled as I get older, so City Lips glosses are like a dream come true for me and my issues!

City Lips Clear

City Lips Clear

Clear is City Lips most popular ultra high-shine clear and it’s what I turn to when I want to plump up my lips, give them some shine, and get some slip and hydration. The shine is nice and the slip is great – smooth and not sticky at all. It’s great by itself or over other colors for some extra oomph.

Sun Diego is a bright, warm-toned pink with golden sheen. It’s looks a lot darker in the tube than it ends up on my lips, which are very lightly pigmented to begin with. I love the pink and the golden shimmer – it’s so pretty and feminine and the gloss really does plump up my lips and make them less wrinkled.

Solution For:

  • Dry Lips
  • Thin Lips
  • Wrinkled Lips

The matte lips are available in 10 shades from light to dark. If you own both the matte and gloss you can tell which is which by the packaging – matte has a matte finish tube, gloss has a glossy finish.

Pink Taupe is one of the lighter shades but it’s not truly light, I’d say it’s more of a light medium tone. The beautiful color has more taupe than pink on me and works well with almost every eye look that I can conjure up. It’s quite natural on.

I consider the matte formula to be more tingly but it’s also more plumping. I can feel this on my lips and watch it dry down. While it doesn’t last the entire day for me it lasts considerably longer than most lip products. The best part is that once it’s dry it’s also comfortable. I don’t feel like my lips are shriveling up.

Both the gloss and matte versions are great additions to my lip wardrobe.

City Lips Rosy Mauve

City Lips Rosy Mauve

Rosy Mauve is a gorgeous shade – a beautiful mid-tone rose that is great for everything. Mattes usually emphasize the wrinkles on my lips, but this one does the opposite – it plumps my lips up so it doesn’t make my wrinkles stand out. I am not sure why my pics all turned out so the shade looks so shiny. It’s actually a beautiful flat matte. Here is the pic from the website:

I usually put this on and blot once for the perfect coverage and shade. I either wear it matte or else I wear the Clear over it for pretty shine. Either way I love it!
