City Beauty broadens their line with Blue Defense HydroGel

When we think of City Beauty we can’t help but think first of their City Lips since that’s what put them on the map. We’ve reviewed City Lips and City Lips Matte and still understand why that’s what they’ve been known for. But there’s so much more to City Beauty including skin care, lash serum, masks and body lotions. Their newest product, City Beauty Blue Defense HydroGel, is so popular that it sold out right away but will be returning soon.

We were each sent a jar and after a month or so of testing we’re here with our results.

MARCIA’S TAKE ON BLUE DEFENSE HYDROGEL:

There are 3 things I notice instantly upon use of Blue Dense HydroGel: 1) the pretty light blue color that looks incredibly refreshing, 2) the wonderful hydration that the product gives almost immediately, 3) the fragrance of this gel.

The purpose of the City Beauty Blue Dense HydroGel is to work on your dullness, dryness and lack of elasticity and it does a great job of that. It feels wonderful to apply this to dry skin and notice how much my skin drinks it up. It helps with my dry patches especially.

What makes me like this the most is that it has a triple-hyaluronic acid formula which makes skin look plumped up. On your face the plumper the better since it keeps wrinkles at bay and gives a more youthful appearance. A problem for me though is that the gel has a floral fragrance that I find to be strong. It dissipates after a while but not instantly. Therefore I can only use this during the day since fragrance can easily disrupt my sleep.

Once this comes back into stock, it is definitely worth a try to get all of these benefits in one pretty blue gel.

LISA’S TAKE ON BLUE DEFENSE HYDROGEL:

My thought the first time I used this moisturizer was, “Wow…I think this is the slipperiest moisturizer ever!” It has a gel-like texture that is really different, and my dry areas just drink it right up. It isn’t greasy, but it really lets your fingers slide over the skin so give yourself a quick facial massage every time you apply it.

The Blue Defense HydroGel actually attracts water to itself, which is why it is able to plump up your skin for 72 hours. Plumped skin looks younger and firmer, so you get immediate gratification. Also, thanks to the triple-hyaluronic acid formula you get results from long-term use as well. Skin is brighter, fine lines and wrinkles are diminished, and the B-Circadin creates a “skin reset.” B-Circadin is an anti-Blue Light plant extract, and it moisturizes and treats the loss of elasticity.

The Blue Defense HydroGel comes in a jar, which isn’t my favorite – however, City Beauty includes a really lovely golden spoon to make sure you aren’t digging your fingers in without thinking. The spoon keeps the gel from becoming contaminated with bacteria and it’s much more impressive than the typical plastic spoons that come with jar moisturizers. I have been using this day and night, although for daytime I am sure to also use a separate SPF. I love the unique texture and feel of this moisturizer and it makes one heck of a neck moisturizer too.

I love great skincare that provides results. This sounds really nice!

  2. This sounds like a really nice product, although I’m wth Marcia if there is a strong floral fragrance. Is it more rose or other? Rose is a total no-go for me, but I could probably handle other floral scents for the day if it works this well!

  3. I love gels, this sounds great for my dry skin!

    This does sound really nice!

Too bad the gel has a scent, I am not a huge fan of floral. But it sounds amazing otherwise.
