CHI LAVA Ceramic Hairstyling Iron is my hair’s best friend

CHI LAVA 1″ Volcanic Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron

The CHI LAVA 1″ Volcanic Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron is my best friend and I am formally apologizing to her for not taking her to Florida with me a few weeks ago. What was I thinking? I knew that the heat and humidity would wreck havoc on my hair and it did. My dear husband kept saying “pack lighter, I have to carry and lift these suitcases”. So I left this wonderful iron home along with my travel blow dryer. My SIL’s guest dryer had worked for me in the past and I really thought she’d have a flat iron. Big mistake.

CHI LAVA 1″ Volcanic Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron is the best straightening iron I’ve ever used. I love it and it loves my hair. I was brought up in the days of the “Breck Girl” in the 60’s and 70’s so my idea of beautiful hair then (and now) is long shiny straight hair with volume.

The kind of hair that I can swing around and be confident it will fall back into place was what we all wanted back then. I am one of the lucky ones with relatively straight hair so I used Breck exclusively back in the day. Now I use a variety of shampoos and conditioners but that look is still what I crave.

This CHI LAVA 1″ Volcanic Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron has the smoothest surface and glides easily on my hair. I use it mostly on second and third day hair but when I want my hair to look great from shampoo to shampoo I use it the first day. It keeps my hair looking straight and shiny.

The plates are 1″ Volcanic lava ceramic plates and they are almost 4 inches long. The iron heats up very quickly, maybe 15 – 20 seconds and reach a maximum temperature of 450 degrees. And the wonderfulness of it is that it has an auto shut off after 1 hour. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been grateful for that feature.

I have a slightly older model but the one available now at Ulta ($159 and you can usually use a 20% off coupon on this) has a heat setting switch that locks. You can set it from 200 to 450F and adjust it in increments of 10 degrees to customize it for your hair type.

Behind the Technology

  • VOLCANIC CERAMIC – The power of CHI Ceramic infused with volcanic lava derived from lava rocks provides gentle consistent heat during styling. This combination allows styling at lower than normal temperatures producing less damage to the hair while offering smooth, shiny results.
  • CHI CERAMIC – CHI’s signature Ceramic creates smooth looks by leaving hair frizz-free with reflective shine. It offers consistent heated plates producing smooth results on all hair types.
  • VOLCANIC LAVA – Volcanic powders derived from lava rocks offer extreme durability while acting as a great heat conductor. It produces ions infusing hair with shine.

The curved sides of the plates help me create a curve to my ends so that I have variety in styling my hair. I value how my hair looks and I want only the best products. That’s why I have no problem recommending the CHI LAVA 1″ Volcanic Lava Ceramic Hairstyling Iron. Go for the best yourself. You’re worth it.  —  Marcia
