Let’s hang on to summer as long as we can, right? Sally Hansen has the perfect summer shades for our tips to help us do so, and I have three of them today from the Miracle Gel nail polish Summer Solstice Collection. Marcia turned me on to this – I was totally skeptical and she assured me it really was as great as everyone said. The brush is flat and large, and you apply the color without a base coat. That’s step one. Step two is the Miracle Gel Top Coat, which gives a shiny finish. The manicure lasts a good 10 to 14 days on me without chipping.sample
I do have a few tips – I found that it works best if I apply the thinnest coat of color possible and then let it dry completely before I put the top coat on. If I don’t do that, I get some bubbles on a few nails. But waiting for a totally dry nail before the top coat takes care of that problem, and I am amazed at the results – 10 to 14 days of fabulous chip-free nails that didn’t need any special curing or massive trickery to remove the polish.
Koi Coral is a beautiful coral shade that really makes me cry that summer is almost over!! Such a perfect summer shade that is fabulous with darker skin tones.
Sea Gals is my favorite of the three – a beautifully mesmerizing metallic golden green. I can’t believe Marcia didn’t grab this one for herself because it’s a total Marcia shade. I am going to have to loan it to her after I wear it for several weeks…it’s going to be tough to let it go, but I love her so I’ll do it!
Forever Together is a pretty, feminine matte ballerina pink. It’s a great neutral shade, awesome with a tan. As you can see, I was impatient for my photos and didn’t let the color dry enough before applying my top coat and I got a bubble. So important to let that color fully dry!!
This collection of colors isn’t going to last long, so get to the store to find them soon. You’ll find Sally Hansen at Ulta, CVS, Rite Aid, Target, sometimes Amazon, and Walgreens. Prices vary from store to store with Walgreens and Target often being the most reasonable. Enjoy the long weekend! – Lisa
