Calm skin with Arbonne: Calm Gentle Daily Moisturizer and Soothing Eye Gel

Arbonne Calm Gentle Daily Moisturizer and Eye GelThere are just a few direct sales cosmetics lines that fascinate me, and Arbonne has always been one of them.  A good friend of mine is a 20+ year representative of Arbonne, and she swears her amazing skin is a direct result of this line.  I have some favorites that are simply incredible (if you haven’t tried the Unwind Massage Oil yet you have NO idea what you are missing!!) so I was super happy to test samples of two skin care products: Calm Gentle Daily Moisturizer and Soothing Eye Gel.        samples

The Calm Gentle Daily Moisturizer ($40) is a total winner.  Granted, it doesn’t have any SPF in it, so if you use it for your daytime moisturizer you also need sun protection – but my foundation typically covers the need.  This beautifully lightweight moisturizer is certainly worth that extra step for some SPF because it’s chock full of antioxidants to fight free radicals and emollients to hydrate thirsty skin.

I recommend this for anyone who has dry skin, especially those with sensitive skin since it is fragrance-free.  It does a great job of repairing skin, improving texture, and plumping fine lines.  Yay for Arbonne on this one!

Arbonne Calm Soothing Eye Gel

The Arbonne Calm Soothing Eye Gel ($31) is really nice, although it’s not quite as impressive as the Calm Gentle Daily Moisturizer.  I like that the Soothing Eye Gel is water-based, which means no chance of milia for me.  It’s also fragrance-free, which is essential for anything that comes near my eyes.  And I think the rollerball applicator is pretty cool – literally, since it feels nice and cool going on, plus it gives an undereye massage that feels wonderful.

The massage provides instant gratification for undereye puffiness.  You can get the same instant de-puffing with a manual massage, but the rollerball is a neat shortcut.  What I worry about is this – I never put my fingers into my products because I don’t want to potentially contaminate them with bacteria.  The rollerball is applied directly, so that means whatever is on my skin goes into the jar no matter what.  Maybe this isn’t an issue, but the older I get the more paranoid I get about this sort of thing.

Beyond that, the ingredients – including cucumber and aloe – are very soothing and calming.  If you are looking for something easy to use with an immediate calming effect for puffy eyes, it’s something you will want to check out.  You can find Arbonne online at, as well as locally through direct sales representatives.  – Lisa
