An impressive subscription box: Joah Box

I love subscription boxes and I enjoy passing on the love of them to you. I currently receive 3 boxes and Joah Box is on my list to try next. What makes JOAH BOX unique is that it’s a box that contains 5 to 7 full sized items that come directly from Seoul and is mailed to you. These fresh new items are a variety of makeup, skincare, haircare and beauty tools. JOAH finds the newest trends and includes those in your subscription.

I received the June box and enjoyed opening it and using these all new to me products. Right now they are taking orders for the August box so if this interests you sign up for their newsletter to get 5% off. Prices are $35.95 for a one time box or for a monthly plan, $35.31 for a three month plan. This includes shipping. (subscription pricing). Even better is that they try to personalize the box to your skintone, skin type, and choice of makeup, skincare or both. That’s a first for me which is why I’ll subscribe.

Now let’s get to the nitty gritty and see what joys June Joah brought!! There were 5 items in this box with 2 beauty, 2 skincare, and one body care.

Winning for cutest packaging is the MISSHA Length Boost Cara ($14 on Amazon). Some boxes received Volume Boost while some Length Boost.

MISSHA Length Boost Cara

I love trying new mascaras and I’ve never had such an adorable one before. But that’s not enough to recommend it even with those adorable stickers to adorn the tube or your life. What counts is the look you get.

This full brush gave me long lasting looks with more length and definition. I found it easy to apply and experienced no smudging and clumping. It washes off easily too. A great addition to my cosmetic life and the tube is pink! I love pink.

Air-Fit Velvet Lipstick from RiRe ($17.50 but $8 on Amazon) may be a matte but it’s a light as air matte. It doesn’t pull on my lips at all.

It’s a great summer lipstick since it glides on with ease and I found it left a natural looking stain behind. Being so slim and lightweight you can stick it in a pocket without a problem. There is a light floral fragrance in the tube and when first applied.

GALACTOMYCES DRYLOCK MASK by I’m Sorry for my Skin ($10) is going to sound a little gross but if I’ve learned anything from Korean and Japanese beauty it’s that they know product ingredients and use the best. “The face mask contains 69% of Galactomyces. Galactomyces is a type of fungus that helps to nourish and revialize the skin while reducing signs of aging. It’s considered as one of the strongest ingredients in skincare to help improve your skin.”

Now I know that none of us are rushing out to put fungus on our faces and honestly if this wasn’t in a trusted box like JOAH I might avoid it. But if I can get beautiful skin like many Asian women have, why not?? (available here for $5.50)

Time Stop Collagen Ampoule from The Plant Base ($29) was included in the box since K Beauty is a big proponent of collagen in products. Collagen helps with elasticity and strength which keeps our skin uplifted and more youthful.

Time Stop Collagen Ampoule from The Plant Base

This is a fast absorbing serum with no fragrance so I’ve enjoyed using this. It contains 76.5% of mushroom extract (noted since some people can be sensitive to this). It’s not the least bit sticky and lays nicely under my foundation. It can be used day and/or night. This can be found for $35.50 on Amazon.

The Plant Base Time Stop Collagen Ampoule is the most exciting find for me in this subscription box.

Farm Stay Aloe Vera Moisture Soothing Gel wins the prize for most beneficial product in Joah June’s Box. This is for everyone in your family. You’ve probably heard over and over that Aloe Vera is nature’s skincare and this gel can be used in so many ways. I’ve used it for sunburns on myself and my family.

Farm Stay Aloe Vera Moisture Soothing Gel

This is a sample packet and now that I know it exists and can be found on Amazon I’m thrilled. Not only is it great for healing but it can be used in so many ways. Men can use this after shaving to get rid of the burn, we can use this as a water mask or eye mask or even a moisturizer especially after you’ve shaved or had hair removal. I’ve got this in my beach bag in case one of us burns. When I take the little ones to the splash pad I like to put it on their nose and shoulders. It feels cool and refreshing.

In total there are 5 products I’d never have known about along with a great information sheet. It’s a great way to discover the best K-Beauty products and know they’ve been hand picked by the Joah team. “We believe the process for personal beauty care should be an adventure, but not a tireless or harmful one. We do the sifting for you, finding up-and-coming brands with great ingredients and social values at the heart of their product development. Brands that maintain what we call “clean” production processes.” —  Marcia
