A must-have in your beauty collection? Some fabulous neutral nail polishes. My partner Marcia tends to live a bit more on the ‘wild side’ of polish shades for manicures, but even she goes neutral once in a while. Me? I am a mostly neutral girl with the occasional venture into color. I am always on the lookout for neutral shades that are pretty but not boring, and PRITI NYC recently sent us a few colors that are now some of my favorites.
I have a few rules for my neutral nail polishes. First, they can’t be too brown or yellow. A few days of wear and those kinds of shades just start looking dirty. Second, they can’t be boring. Neutral doesn’t have to be a yawn-fest. I put a lot of time and money into manicures, so I am not interested in nail polish that makes my nails completely disappear. PRITI NYC is a stand out nail polish line for me because every shade I have tested goes on smooth without streaks and lasts for at least two weeks without fading or chipping.
PRITI NYC Nail Polish ($15) is 5-free, vegan, non-toxic, and free of toluene, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, and camphor. PRITI NYC also works with Chemwise to recycle polishes safely.
1. Ginger Snap Orchid is probably my most favorite neutral nail polish ever. It is an opaque light creamy nude with a hint of lilac. It has very subtle shimmer that is just so delicate and pretty!
2. Moss Campion is one of those fabulous neutrals that belongs in every collection. It is an opaque creamy light taupe that applies like a dream and looks edgy and cool without being ‘in your face’.
3. Nodding Lilac is from the Autumn in Chile collection. This opaque soft lilac has a touch of grey, and is really beautiful. I wore this shade for a month straight and never got tired of it!
If my picks aren’t quite your style, take a look at the PRITI NYC website and check out their 100+ shades available. Some of you are lucky enough to have a store nearby that carries this line, but if not you can find it online at
