Beauty Spotlight Team Mystery Post: What’s in Lisa’s palette?

I am addicted to the Food Network, specifically the show ‘Chopped’.  If you watch this show as much as I do, you know that there are some buzz words and phrases that the judging panel uses over and over.  They talk about food being ‘unctuous’, or ‘deconstructed’, or ‘bright’.  And they often reference their own discerning palates.  Every time I hear that one, I think “Oh yeah?  I’ll bet my palette is better than yours!”  But I am thinking about my flipping fantastic lipstick palette, not my taste buds.

The mystery Z palette

My filled Mystery Z palette

I made this lipstick palette to solve three problems:

1.  About every two weeks, I realize that my purse is killing my shoulder.  I have no idea why it suddenly weighs fifty pounds, so I dump it out and I find that I have fourteen different lipsticks in my purse.  Why I seem to need a different color every day is a bit of a mystery, but this happens over and over.  So I solved my problem by making a lipstick palette with some of my favorite colors.

2.  I have too much stuff.  Waaaaay too much stuff.  By making my palette, I was able to recycle about 10 of my lipstick containers and created some needed space for the rest of my stuff…ok, maybe space so I can add more stuff!!

3.  Making my palette was a great way to finish off stubs of beloved colors, as well as lippies that had broken containers or had come off their base.

Here’s what is inside:

Pictured above, top row left to right:  Armani Sheer #9, Armani Shine #19, Armani Silk #9, Armani Shine Brilliant #15.  Bottom row left to right:  Armani Shine Brilliant #45, Armani Shine Brilliant #7, Armani Sheer Transparent #9, MAC Viva Glam VI.

Pictured above, top row left to right:  MAC Front Lit, Shu Uemura (don’t know the name, but it’s a sheer slightly purple shimmer),   Cle de Peau #26, MAC Mattene 40’s Pink.  Bottom row left to right:  Armani Sheer Transparent #24, Shiseido SL6, Armani Lipstick Mania #32, MAC Pro Longwear Perpetual Flame.

I keep a little lip brush with it, and I am ready to coordinate with any outfit.

I hope you enjoyed a peek into my palette, I loved sharing it with you!  – Lisa

  1. What a great idea! I usually carry around a lip pencil and tiny glosses in my everyday makeup bag- but I made a similar custom palette with the ELF $1 palette – I put my eyeshadows, blush and highlighter in it – it saves so much space!

  2. Gorgeous! I never thought to put lippies in a Z palette!

  3. I am going to be doing this soon for my kit but love the idea of doing just for my personal use as well. Love it!

  4. Thats a great idea 🙂

  5. I LOVE this! I’ve been known to have friends who have fun with a game called “Let’s guess how many lip products are in Kimberley’s purse today!” What a great fix.
