It’s too hot in the summer to wear pantyhose, but I’m also past the point in my life where I am going to purposely expose my dead-fish white skin to the sun to get that lovely, sun tanned, beach bunny look that eventually leads to skin cancer. However, when I put on my capris, my sundresses, or my shorts, the look of my pasty white legs with tiny blue veins makes me grab for my sweatpants every time.
Luckily, about four years ago I discovered Air Stocking. This stuff is the bomb, it’s one of my favorite summertime products (although I do find it very useful all year long). It’s a silky powder spray that gives your legs an elegant finish, like wearing a pair of very natural looking pantyhose, or having a gorgeous looking tan – nothing overdone, just enough to make your legs look thin with no nasty blue veins. The description on the can says, “Silk powder and rich moisturizers designed to finish your legs flawlessly.”
I find it’s quite easy to apply. After I shower and dry off, I step into the shower, shake the canister, and spray my legs, arms, whatever area I want to cover – sometimes I go without a watch, and I just want to cover that white area on my wrist. It takes only two seconds to cover one whole leg. If I get a streak, which rarely happens for me, I just blend with a finger and voilà, perfect skin. One can lasts me about a year, you should be able to get between 20 and 30 uses from each can. I have never had a problem with it rubbing off onto my clothes or sweating off of me, either. And it washes right off with regular soap and water. It is sweat resistant, the color lasts all day, and it just makes your legs look great. It does have moisturizers in it, as well as caffeine which is supposed to help with cellulite. Hey, every little bit helps!!
The original formula comes in four different colors: Natural (my favorite), an opaque beige; Terra-cotta, warm brown great for medium skin; Bronze, a medium dark color with pink undertones; and Coco, a darker color either for evening or else for women with darker skin tones.
They also now have Diamond Legs, which is this fabulous shimmer spray. The shimmer is sooo nice, not too obvious but there enough to truly brighten and make your legs looks thinner. There are three colors: 9 to 5, which is very natural and is for daytime use; Vacation, which is great for tanned skin or medium skin tones, and Evening, which is a shimmering bronze.
The can and applicator are extremely easy to use, you can even turn the can upside down and there’s no problem getting the product to come out. It’s a wonderfully handy product that I use often, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
