I was sent their TRY IT ALL in a BAG set that is an exciting way to discover some of their line. It contains 14 nicely sized sample products inside a wonderful cosmetic bag created by BROMS.the.poet. For me this was an excellent way to try their products, mostly because almost everything is fragranced.

The CARRY IT ALL BAG ($16) can be bought separately as can the TRY IT ALL SAMPLES ($12) or you can buy the set TRY IT ALL in a BAG ($24).

GLOW for a cause BODY BUTTERS

GLOW for a cause BODY BUTTERS

There are 10 Body Butters that GLOW for a cause manufacturers and each can be bought separately but for me the delight is in having the opportunity to sniff out all of these to see what I like best. In alphabetical order here they are:

  1. CALM:  fresh lavender and warm vanilla, a sultry scent
  2. DREAM:  a bouquet of flowers with a warm woody base, it’s a soft floral scent
  3. EMBRACE:  blend of white amber, ginger, brown sugar and coconut with a subtle note of rich vanilla and musk, this is one of my personal favorites even though I wasn’t sure about the musk at first
  4. INNOCENCE:  delicate sweetness of berries and flowers with a twist of almond, a little bit of every good scent that Glow says is like Paris in the spring
  5. INSPIRE:   vibrant blend of florals and a dash of sunny citrus, I love this because of the natural citrus that comes through
  6. NATURAL:  unscented so of course this is the one I tried first to check out the richness and luxurious feel of these body butters
  7. REFRESH:  eucalyptus, spearmint and bergamot mix, I love the spearmint in this, it’s not a typical fragrance in bath/body products
  8. VIBE: “the vibrant mix of red berries, honey and bergamot are rounded out by a blend of vanilla, clove, sandalwood and the luscious twist of citrus zests.”, this is such a delightful scent that isn’t typical at all, highly recommended
  9. WANDER:  Bergamot and jasmine are grounded by spicy florals and an earthy undertone of sandalwood, incense and vanilla. Floral and spice and sandalwood stand out most to me.
  10. WISH:  light florals, white tea, and bergamot grounded by light musks; delightfully sweet and not overwhelming

GLOW for a cause BODY BUTTER

GLOW for a cause BODY BUTTER

These body butters are very rich without being sticky. They absorb nicely and last a good amount of time. Most of these would take the place of wearing fragrance in my opinion. They are Paraben Free, Phthalate Free, Cruelty Free, and made in the USA.

There are two Facial Creams included in the samples: Calendula & Cream and Vanilla & Aloe. Vanilla & Cream is labeled Facial Moisturizing Cream. It’s made with 100% pure vanilla essential oil and aloe vera extract and has a very strong vanilla fragrance. It’s gluten free as well as paraben free plus there are no synthetic fragrances. The ingredients are amazing and you can tell from them what purity you are using.

INGREDIENTS

Water (Aqua), Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth – 20, Glycerin, Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Glyceryl Monostearate, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Palm Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cera Alba, Dimethicone, Grapefruit Pink Essential Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Natural Vitamin E, Vanilla Flavor, Sodium Citrate, Vanilla Planifolia Fruit Extract, Green Tea Extract, Chamomile Extract, Silk Powder, Honey Powder, Banana Fruit Extract, Papaya Fruit Extract, Aloe Vera Powder, Apricot Fruit Extract

Calendula & Cream is the Facial Nourishing Cream and is created with lightly scented with 100% pure essential oils of lemon, bergamot and tangerine. It soothes damaged skin without leaving a greasy feeling. As a fan of citrus aromas this is my favorite of the two.

In addition to the moisturizers there’s a scrub and facial mask. FACIAL CLAY SCRUB in Ylang Ylang and Lime is lightly fragranced with 100% pure ylang ylang essential oil and the crisp notes of lime.  It contains Australian clay and apricot exfoliants that don’t hurt sensitive skin. I find it washes off easily with a wash cloth.

INGREDIENTS

Aqua, Kaolin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Shell, Sodium Lactate, Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin, Organic Ylang Ylang Oil, Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil, Lime Essential Oil, Mandarin Essential Oil, Natural Vitamin E, Honey Powder, Aloe Vera Powder, Chamomile Extract

FACIAL CLAY MASK in Lime & Lavender is “Formulated with Australian and Rhassoul clays, our mask helps to lift impurities and revitalize skin. It is enhanced with evening primrose oil and carrot oil, reputed to nourish the skin and fight the effects of aging, and is infused with the calming aroma of lavender and lime.” I personally find the fragrance to be strong at first but then becomes easier for me to tolerate.

Getting all soft and glowy with Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter

So now the winter blues are setting in.  It’s cold and nasty outside with freezing rain – nothing good about it at all.  My skin looks pasty and feels like the desert thanks to all this dry indoor heat.  I need some color, some moisture, and some glow.  And guess who promises all three?  Josie Maran with her Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter ($36).

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Apricot Light Bronze

The Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter is a tub of body butter that features whipped 100% pure argan oil.  The argan oil is incredibly healing for skin, and it joins other great ingredients, including shea butter, avocado oil, and white tea extract that are wonderful for softening skin and fighting free radicals.

.• Argan Oil nourishes skin with essential nutrients
• Shea butter, avocado oil, and white tea extract revitalize and restore
• Lightweight, velvety texture absorbs instantly

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Vanilla Apricot Light Bronze

The Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter comes in ten different scents as well as unscented.  I tried Vanilla Apricot, which is also a Light Bronze color that evens out skin tone and gives it beautiful soft sheen – a pearlescent light tan.  I can’t say I am a huge fan of the scent – it doesn’t really smell like vanilla or apricot.  I am not sure what it smells like – almost like unscented, really – and the scent doesn’t last on my skin anyway.  That’s fine with me because what I am a fan of is the light, creamy, smooth whipped texture, which is fabulous, as well as how amazing this body butter makes my skin look.  It is really gorgeous on arms, legs, and the decolletage.

So, the scent doesn’t wow me, but I hear the other scents are great.  The body butter itself is amazing, and I love the way it makes my skin look perfect and glowy and healthy.  I totally understand why the Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter is one of Josie Maran’s best sellers.  You can find Josie Maran products online at josiemarancosmetics.com and at qvc.com.  – Lisa

Getting glowy! Profusion Strobe and Glow The Artistry Palette

Whenever I use a highlighting palette, I immediately think of photos of Marilyn Monroe. She had this amazing glow that was captured in photos – sometimes through incredible makeup tricks but she also had a natural glow that was just surreal. The goal with highlighters is to create that sort of glow, brightening skin so it looks softer, younger, and healthier. And who doesn’t want to look smoking hot like Marilyn? Even just a little bit??

Profusion Strobe and Glow The Artistry Palette

Profusion is a brand new to Beauty Info Zone and I’m struck by the quality and the affordability. Strobe and Glow The Artistry Palette is the first of several items we were sent to try, and it’s lots of fun. The price is right – just $10 for nine big pans of color. They remind me of Becca’s highlighters although they are more powdery in texture. The pigmentation is surprisingly excellent – seriously, for ten bucks I didn’t expect a lot, but these babies deliver. They give a beautiful glow and sheen, and can be built up for more drama.

A 9-shade highlight palette for soft glow to bold shimmer effects that instantly brighten and lift your features. Strobe by sweeping a shade to the high-points of your face with a Pro Series brush. The buildable shades can also be layered to customize, for a glow that catches the light with every turn. Easy-blending and suitable for all skin tones.

You can use these anywhere – face, neck, decolletage, arms. The brush that is included is actually pretty nice, too.  Because the initial brush through is powdery, just shake out the brush before application. You will find your favorites – hopefully Profusion starts selling these shades on an individual basis soon, because I would love to have compacts of Fairy Dust and Glazed.

You can find Profusion at Target and online at profusioncosmetics.com.  – Lisa

Hard Candy says “Just Glow!”

In the spring I introduced you to a great Baked Highlighting Trio from Hard Candy. It was part of the collection called Just Glow! and it’s a beauty. If you aren’t using Hard Candy cosmetics that’s a big mistake on your part. These may be some of the least expensive products but they are also some of the best around. They have everything from the trends to the classics. It’s a line that is great for teens and adults.

samples

Unfortunately like so many brands we can’t guarantee that the products we fall for will be there in the future and I’m worried about the Just Glow! Baked Highlighting Trios being gone soon since there are limited amounts left on Walmart’s website. These $9 palettes would make you just as happy and glamorous as the “high priced spread”.  So let’s take a look at them!

Cruisin the Coast
A Touch of Moonlight
Rooftop Rendevous

Hard Candy Meet Me in Tahiti Baked Highlighting Trio

Meet Me in Tahiti Baked Highlighting Trio was the one I tried in the spring and one lucky BIZ subscriber even got to win her. This is the golden trio of the group. The first is a soft golden peach, the middle a light gold, and the third a darker bronzey shade.

Hard Candy Meet Me in Tahiti

From gold to silver we now have A Touch of Moonlight. This is the most unusual since it’s rare to find silver highlighters. We know that gold is big but everyone, except Hard Candy, seems to forget about silver.

Hard Candy A Touch of Moonlight

Hard Candy A Touch of Moonlight

The first shade is a twinkly true white, the middle shade is a true silver but not too dark, and the third is a combination of the two with the prettiest light silver (my favorite shade in this trio).

CRUISIN THE COAST is probably my favorite of the group because it has the perfect blush tones for me. The first is light pink  with just a touch of shimmer, second is a golden white that I’ve worn on my eyes and it glows, and the final shade is a sparkly light peach.

Hard Candy Cruisin’ the Coast

Cruisin the Coast

Last is ROOFTOP RENDEVOUS which is quintessential summer with its bronze and gold tones.

Hard Candy Just Glow Rooftop Rendevous

Hard Candy Rooftop Rendevous

First you’ll find a coral bronze, next a soft gold, and last a very soft white that is almost opalescent. Rooftop Rendevous doesn’t have shimmer to it so it’s a wonderful palette for those of us who aren’t shimmer/glitter fans.

swatches from Hard Candy’s Baked Highlighting Trios

Two sad things about these palettes is that you can order them online but they won’t ship them from Walmart. And the other is that they are mislabeled online. They are labeled as Baked Trio Eyeshadows but the palettes are actually called Baked Highlighting Trio

Hard Candy Just Glow! Baked Highlighting Trios

Now for three happy things. Happily Hard Candy is cruelty-free. The palettes come with a truly usable brush that’s soft and works wonderfully for highlighting. And the third is that these all work well as eyeshadows. While the description might be wrong on Walmart’s site, it’s right since these look luminous on eyes.

Don’t lose out on these great palettes. They’ll bring you wonderful days of beauty with money left for lunch!  —  Marcia

Decorté Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Color in BE 385, BR 381, BR 382

DECORTE Cosmetics continues to impress me! While I haven’t tried their skin care line, the color products are full of winners. Every single day I am wearing something from DECORTE, whether it is the foundationconcealerprimer, or the lip palettes…or just reaching for my Kate Moss Makeup Favorites Kit which I keep in my desk at work.

Decorte Cosmetics Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Color

Decorte Cosmetics Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Colors

Today I have yet another huge rave, this time for eyes. The EYE GLOW GEM GLOSSY EYE COLOR ($27) is total eye candy, so much fun! The texture is gel-like, definitely lighter than a typical cream eyeshadow with more bounce.  They apply slightly wet and are easy to blend, and dry to a silky finish with a pearlescence that gives them a three-dimensional effect. I think the Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Colors are more fun than usual because you apply them with your fingers instead of a brush. To avoid sticking your finger into the pot, just use a small spatula to remove some of the eye color and scrape it onto a steel palette, then let the fun begin! I really find that fingers work better than a brush, but you can experiment and find what works best for you.

There are 29 shades available that range from pale silver to deep dark blue. I find that these lovelies are long-lasting and don’t get dull or crease throughout the day.

BE385 is a beautiful champagne brown with hints of silver and pink. It’s a gorgeous transition color from the lid to the brow, really stunning! Sometimes I just wear this as a wash with lots of black eyeliner and super black mascara.

BR381 is a coppery brown with flecks of silver and green. It’s a stunner, especially on hazel eyes. I love this as a lid shade although it’s also great for the crease.

Decorte Cosmetics Eye Glow Gem Glossy Eye Color BR382

BR382 is my go-to crease shade, a dark chocolate with pink and gold shimmer. Wow is this pretty! You can deepen the shade with another layer for more drama or sheer it out for less. It’s very versatile and looks amazing every single way I’ve tried it. Love love love.

Get glowing with Derma E Radiance Toner and Illuminating Rosehip and Cranberry Face Oil

Derma E Radiance Toner and Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Luminous, glowy skin…who doesn’t want that? Derma E has two new products that promise lovely, glowing skin and I have to admit I am digging both of them! The Essentials Radiance Toner is a gentle exfoliating toner that perfectly preps the skin for treatment, and the Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil is a total treat for skin.

Derma E Radiance Toner

Essentials Radiance Toner ($14.95) This came at a perfect time for me as I had just run out of toner. I am a huge believer in toner in general – it finishes cleaning the skin and preps it for serums and moisturizers. I was a little hesitant about this one because of the Rosehip…I typically don’t like anything that is rose fragranced in my skin care. But thankfully the scent is very soft and it doesn’t bother me at all.

Derma E Radiance Toner

This toner doesn’t have alcohol so it isn’t drying, but it does exfoliate thanks to the glycolic acid so it leaves skin wonderfully soft and toned. It’s truly lovely stuff and is the perfect prep for the amazing Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil.

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Illuminating Rosehip and Cranberry Face Oil ($16.50) Oh my gosh, I want to just take a bath in this gorgeous oil!! It’s fabulous! This facial oil soaks in quickly and provides tons of moisture, brightening the skin instantly. It has all kinds of pure plant botanicals, essential oils, antioxidants, and fatty acids which means skin looks amazing. In addition to the rosehip and cranberry oils it also has pumpkin seed oil which is really great for skin.

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Derma E Illuminating Rosehip & Cranberry Face Oil

Your face, neck, and decolletage will look fantastic instantly after smoothing a few drops of this oil in – believe me, you will be thrilled with the results. And the price is fantastic. I use it every morning and every night.

You can find Derma E online and at Ulta, CVS, Meijer, and other major stores. They have tons of great products that are so reasonably priced. I love lots of their stuff, but I really recommend these two items – I hope you will check them out!  – Lisa

I got to test out the Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Powder in Golden Sand. I thought it looked too young for me. Swatched heavily, it looks quite shimmery and more like something my daughters and nieces would swoon over…but not like something that my middle-aged face would find very flattering.

I was in for a surprise because this sheers out to be more of a glow than a shimmer. It is possible to put on too much and get shimmery, but a few brush strokes and skin gets diffuse, glowy, and happy. Golden Sand smooths edges out better than an Instagram filter and instantly brightens dull, sallow skin. It also really lasts a long time. Most powder highlighters seem to stick around for about two or three hours on me, but this one doesn’t seem to fade – I can still detect it even after 8 hours of wear. I used to have a similar highlighter from Chanel that was LE and I remember almost crying when I ran out. Now I feel like I finally have my replacement!

I am guessing the other shade that is available, Peach Pearl, is just as gorgeous.  The pan is huge and price point is fantastic.  Next time you are wandering through Ulta, wander over to that Models Own display and definitely check out the Sculpt & Glow Highlighter Powder.  Golden Sand is beautiful, glowy fun.  – Lisa
